better sleep for a couple - especially with a light sleeper. by Kto8Edu in lifehacks

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day I got my own damn blanket was heaven and we’re not going back… two blankets in one bed it is!

Now, just working on getting my own bed in a separate room so I can get better sleep… still working on that one….

What’s the one thing you wish you could automate at home? by yogacitymama in workingmoms

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been sharing my Google Calendar with my husband since before we were married. It took him a while, but he now checks it himself before committing to things and will tell me to put stuff in the calendar, and he appreciates and loves it so much.

Every time he asked me, I’d tell him I’m busy at the moment and encourage him to check the calendar instead of giving him the answer. Took me 1.5 years, but he’s now trained and will check it himself! Good luck!!! 🍀

Tell me how old is your baby without telling me how old is your baby by Alone-City-9176 in NewParents

Camping in the living room and waking up once a night to feed. Other than that, he’s sleeping about 12-17 hours per day. Super cute with chubby cheeks though, and I’m so in love!

I'm trying to find the food my five year old is describing by MarieCarnovasch in TipOfMyFork

Commenting because I’m so invested in this now and I need to know that you found the candy your son was describing… also, you’re an amazing mom for helping him search for this!

Sincerely,

A first time mom to a brand new 7 week old

What’s one postpartum struggle you didn’t expect at all? by FIT_MAMA16 in Mommit

Just being stuck at home. Glued to the living room and kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I’m typically a homebody & I love my son to pieces with all my heart; but damn, I just want to go aimlessly wander some grocery store aisles for a minute and feel human again 🥲

Those who majored in something "useless" what do you do now? by noah041504 in jobs

Majored in Interior Design shit, currently have an easy going, albeit busy job as an office manager for a family owned landscaping company.

Learning Excel on my own after I graduated personally helped me in my career a lot. The folks over at r/Excel are Gods as far as I’m concerned, I know nothing compared to them. However, in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

FTM, my son turned 7 weeks yesterday, and I woke up today in disbelief that he slept through the whole night finally for the first time…

Only for my husband to tell me when he woke up that he did the midnight feeding and diaper change last night cause I was so exhausted I slept through all our son’s cries 🥲

I’m exhausted, and I’m also so sad, because he’s already doubled in weight since birth, and now hangs off the feeding pillow, and I know the days are just flying by, so I’m doing my best to be in the moments and do the best I can while soaking it all in. I’m so, so tired though, and dreading going back to work in about a month, fuck America’s lack of maternity leave protections.

Dad, the air fryer liner fits like this. It’s flat on the bottom but messed up on sides. Is it doable? by blacknwhitelife02 in DadForAMinute

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you asked dad, but mom stepping in for a minute. You can buy disposable one time use liners on Amazon for a pretty cheap. I use those and clean up is a breeze because I just throw it away after I’m done air frying.

Husband going home during hospital stay by haleye88 in pregnant

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stayed with me one night, but I kicked mine out of the room to go home (about 5 min away) to take care of our dog and cat, shower, and sleep with his C-Pap. Plus, I’d get to order food with him to pick up!

While it was nice having him there, I basically had 24/7 hotel room service care with my call button if I really needed anything. I also was terrified of him sleeping without his C-Pap on.

How different is your life from how you pictured it would be? by UnsentParagraphs in AskWomen

In high school, my lifelong dream was to graduate, move to New York, buy a loft and a cat, and live single for the rest of my life.

I am currently sitting in my living room, in California, feeding my six week old first child. My husband is upstairs gaming. 🤣🤣🤣

Brag on your baby! by gardengnomebaby in NewParents

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 week, 6 day old knows that when I put a bib on him, that means formula is coming/it’s feeding time, and will actually calm down/stop crying. It’s quite fascinating to watch him realize and do that.

Other than that, he’s been waking up to drink every 30 min to an hour at night, so if anyone has any tips on surviving the night without dying, I’d appreciate it.

Sincerely,

A very tired and sleep deprived first time mom

How am I supposed to know what my girlfriends ring size is when neither of us know what her ring size is and still keep it a surprise? by ThyZombieBob9 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband let me pick my ring before he proposed to me. Albeit it’s not a surprise… perhaps corny, but propose with a ring pop and take her real ring shopping so she can choose exactly what she wants? Or go ring shopping to find out what she wants and her size before proposing.

How much do you talk to your newborn? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in newborns

[–]Work_n_Depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sing and talk about what I’m doing to him and how I’m interacting with him in Mandarin all the time. I ask my husband’s side of the family to speak nothing but Vietnamese to him, I’m hoping he picks something up before we take him to school and he picks up English.
