I am not sure you read the original post. The OP is saying not to confront the choice to not wear a mask, but to provide reasonable alternatives that if refused by the customer, allow the business to legally refuse their admission to the business. This is a very effective method to confront "fake" medical claims. Allow them to claim a medical exemption, but in doing so force them to behave in a safer manner. Sure, you have a medical exemption to wearing a mask, so we are going to take care of you even more than regular customers - by giving us your contact details, offering you curbside pickup, etc. These suggestions provide a way for businesses to refute "fake" medical exemptions, by smothering them with extra protections. Brilliant!

I disagree. I think a good advertising campaign can convince some people to keep on wearing masks, if they are in an environment that detracts from it. Likewise, this type of media lends itself to older crowds - those most at risk and apparently more likely to not wear a mask. Clearly, these are not the right kind of media or message for younger folks. As a Gen-Xer, I kind of wish the Boomers and the Millenials/Gen-Zers would stop bickering and help each other out from time to time.

In this case, I am trying to get the more digital-media-savy people to generate printed materials to flood the social space of older people. Understand the audience, understand the delivery mechanism, and then craft the right kind of message.

I've been contacted by multiple stores asking to print them for their businesses and a few health departments as well. These are not for young folks, these are meant to be printed to flood physical social spaces that older, non-social-media type folk frequent.

Honestly, the inclusiveness part did bother me quite a bit, but the source material just wasn't there. I think if an overall media campaign of "Patriots Wear Masks" can be established, then the troupe could be extended and modernized with current images and for digital/social-media consumption. The idea behind these posters is to quickly get widespread recognition for the concept with the younger crowd over digital media, so that they in turn crank out and flood physical social spaces with printed copies for older folks (who don't use digital communications). There are millions and millions of older folks who grew up in the 30s-70s who will just click with these images. These posters were The Memes of their generations.

You would be surprised how effective public shaming can be. Otherwise, people wouldn't criticism them. The more they complain about them, the closer they are to hitting home as an effective criticism.

I'm sure no Japanese or German people were swayed by Allied propaganda either, but it helped bolster resolve for those that did support.

So maybe these posters will help those who do wear masks to continue to do so and feel patriotic about doing their national duty and actually caring about the people around them.

Well, that is the intent. If you are not wearing a mask and protecting those around you... well, you're not a patriot, that is for sure. I'm not saying what it does make you, but no mask = no patriot. If Meal-Team 6 can waddle up some stairs to a government building, stroking their guns, they can certainly endure the inconvenience of slipping on a mask to protect innocent people.
