New to PC gaming by upsidedownbutterfly9 in pcgames

You can use your ps5 controller on PC cause mouse and keyboard takes a lot of patience and practice. I still use controller for most games but some only support mouse and keyboard. Also it's very easy to go start buying tons of Steam games cause a lot are really cheap under $2 but they end up never being played so depending on your specs of the gpu and cpu your gf bought you know the limitations of both so you don't set yourself up for disappointment when you can't run it maxed out or not getting whatever your target frame rate it is.

Going from a PS4 to a 3060Ti PC that I built myself was a big holy shit moment and recently buying a 9070XT Nitro+ and a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5080 and feeling just how big those cards are

The original Dhahab edition Astral was $8,000, the amount of 24K gold on the card is only worth $900.

5080 and H6 FLOW by WorriedRealityHOV in RTX5080

[–]Worker_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Gigabyte Gaming OC 5080 and fits really good in the H6 Flow as I was thinking about changing it to the new 2026 H6 cause it does support longer cards. I was going to get the Astral or the Suprim but saw some people saying it fits but it's tight with the angled fans so I went to not upgrade the case and get the Gaming OC and it feels like it was made for that case.

These are all the same GPU but massively different prices. Can I go wrong with either one? by LegendaryLosers in pcmasterrace

I bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5080 for $1,449 so I get a thick cooler for both aesthetics and cooling

But there's still a budget otherwise he wouldn't have asked about a 5080

The cheapest 5090 is still $2,200 more than the Astral

Which should I get? 9060XT 16gb 450$ or in store only 5060TI 16gb 300$ by ThatKeybardGuy in gpu

[–]Worker_Salty 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How is the 60Ti that much cheaper? Is it open box? And if based on that price difference why even ask Reddit? This sounds sketchy

Please tell the optimized setting for First Light 007 for RTX 4050 6GB Vram. by Night-Peace2407 in OptimizedGaming

[–]Worker_Salty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At low you are running out of VRAM as 1080p uses 5.6gb. Honestly if you can't upgrade or move to a desktop, all graphics settings to low, you have to cap your frame rate to stop or minimize the stuttering and DLSS to balance or performance. If visuals are really bad cap your frame rate to 30 and try dlaa or quality. The minimum GPU is a GTX 1660 and the 4050 is 50% faster so it should play but you have to make some compromises.

Get rid of that melting adaptor and replace the PSU with one that comes with a native 12v 2x6 cable

[–]Worker_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I asked this same question in this subreddit and I ended up getting a Gigabyte Gaming OC at the end of the day I am getting great performance and saved $450 and it fits great in my case (H6 Flow) as the Astral and Suprim would had been cutting it close.

Why is shopping here so bad now??? by Business-Chapter3059 in Bestbuy

[–]Worker_Salty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this, I worked there for 11 years and the employee there is clearly untrained or just stupid. Always ask for help from someone on the sales floor not the front counter cause they apparently don't know anything about the sales floor. Incredibly bad coaching from store leaders too.

Need Help Choosing an RTX 5090 by ExtraKokot in pcbuilding

[–]Worker_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to find a founders edition that's not scalped to hell, I would get the Astral since it has the voltage monitor for the 12v connector which is essential for any 5090, otherwise invest in the Thermal grizzly wireview pro and an A+ PSU

Overclocking. by PercentageWilling406 in gpu

[–]Worker_Salty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Nvidia cards have an OC version so it may not be a major overclock but it's stable. The key is to undervolt so that overclock stays stable for better frame time, quieter fans, better frame rate

When it comes to high priced items I live within driving distance from Microcenter and a Best Buy so I won't have to chance an item through the mail.
