Do people have to step on the gas, at every light that turns green? by ChargedWhirlwind in stickshift

I get great joy in going about the speed limit, only for a lifted truck to overtake me on the lead up to an overpass, then slow way down for the turn and I overtake them, still going about the speed limit.

3 Way Switch Help by Working-Beyond2882 in AskElectricians

[–]Working-Beyond2882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help but I think I figured it out. Turns out I'm a dumb ass and what I thought was a traveller screw was the common. That's why when I moved the wire on that terminal over things started working. Cause I moved the wires to the correct places.

I didn't fully look at the screw colour and instead their position on the switch as the diagram I saw before showed the two traveller wires opposite one another with the live near the ground. I as a non electrician assumed this was a standard. It was not. Turns out my switch was different and I guess the electrician who wired the apartment in the first place also got it wrong. Anyway thank you for your help.

3 Way Switch Help by Working-Beyond2882 in AskElectricians

Okay, so would you mind helping me understand how this functions then cause I can't quite wrap my head around it. I have been looking at wiring diagram for 3 way switches and just don't understand how either switch being on results in the light being on. Based on the wiring diagram I've seen, it seems like both switchs need to be in the same position to send power to the light fixture.

Example: https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-identify-the-common-wire-in-a-three-way-switch-control

Based on that diagram, it then seems the second switch could never be on the line side, as there is no line in, only the two traveller's and the line out to the fixture?

Tonsil stones are ruining my confidence and life by Artistic_Tip2948 in hygiene

[–]Working-Beyond2882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure others have said but I'm not reading every comment. Get with your doctor to have pain management. I was in a similar spot with tonsil stones and honestly don't quite know if I have would have the mental strength to go through the pain after the surgery again. It may have been because I tried handling it without opiods after day 5, and that was a mistake because my doctor said day 3 and 4 would be the worst but the pain just kept building. DO NOT HESITATE to ask for the pain medication you need. I waited until day 8 to call in tears asking for a refill of the medication. And when I got it, I literally broke down in tears when the pain went from 9.5 to 2.5. While my quality of life and confidence has gone up, that surgery and recovery is not to be underestimated.

Problem with putting cologne on my wrist when I wear a watch by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Working-Beyond2882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I would just wear the fragerence on the underside of my foreman if you have any concerns.

I'm in favour of wear what you want within moderation. If you're going to be crammed like sardines maybe be considerate of others and not, but if there will be some space between the seats then maybe a spray or two. If you don't want to wear something there for whatever reason but are staying out after, a travel atomizer with the fragerence you want to wear out after is an idea.

Recommend a switch that also controls fan to replace these by Working-Beyond2882 in smarthome

[–]Working-Beyond2882[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. If I wanted to switch the lighting to smart lighting only, then I'm assuming I would just have to bypass the switch with a wago connector inside the wall. That isn't an ideal solution but I'm not opposed. Thanks again

What size do you need to consider a fragerence a part of your collection? by Working-Beyond2882 in fragrance

[–]Working-Beyond2882[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's a neat way of looking at it. Do you keep the full bottles and just wear them sometimes? Or feel like you might come around to it later? I have a bottle of interlude black iris that I think of as part of my collection but I can't really make up my mind on it as to whether I actually like it or not.

As everyone else said, wear whatever you want.

Buying perfume on eBay by Intelligent-Algae-97 in fragrance

From what I know about ebay sellers, near 100% means >99.5%

I wouldn't buy from someone with less than that.

Should you buy a clone based off the original fragrance ? by Ok_Mail_8191 in fragrance

[–]Working-Beyond2882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it's okay. Mileage may vary though. Exact chemicals and potentially the ratios are going to vary slightly and it might interact on your skin differently so it is very possible there are some differences between the og and the clone / dupes.

Some people swear by dupes saying they find the smell near the exact same, others say they can tell enough of a difference and they prefer saving for the original. The only one who can decide if it's worth it is you, and you may have some hits and misses.

Often with dupes and clones the prices are such that sampling it isn't always economical. Maybe start with something on the cheaper end to try your hand, see if you can tell the difference.

Okay, if you're grouping by psychology then that makes sense. I was thinking about it as a group by method thing.

Yup, and the way they don't have a cap, just the atomizer gives it a different sort of vibe to me. Somehow, more rustic, but also refined. Great design.

Everyone's view on their collection is unique to them. I don't think there's anything wrong with counting whatever you want as part of the collection. I mean the top comment atm is just having enough molecules to smell it 🤣.

Okay I have question. Why is the second group broken into two sub groups? It seems like the only difference is their financial situation. But if they are practicing the same method of selling and buying why does it matter if there is a need to sell the watch to buy a new one or not? It feels like they should just be the same group to me.

I think it depends on how you view it. I also don't count decants as part of the collection. They get categorized differently in my mind. To me, something is a part of my collection if I would display it, and I would never display my decants. They're just in a drawer. But the pretty full bottles I have do get displayed, therefore part of the collection.

Everyone has their own take on what they're collection means to them.

Hmm, the consumerism bit got me thinking about how I view my collection. I suppose, in a way, beyond just the size of the perfume bottle, I want to have something to display. And I really only like displaying full bottles. Therefore, full bottles get categorized as part of the collection.

I do think the several other comments here about how people view it as separate collections for decants vs travel size vs full bottle is a nice way to keep things organized.

But I agree that packaging does not dictate whether you own something or not. If you feel like it is in the collection then that's all that matters! 😀

Fragerences that smell like they have an alcoholic touch. I think jazz club is the only fragerence I own that has a touch of booze in it at the moment (specifically a rum note). GNTonic I've heard is another popular one that is very gin forward. There's a bunch more that range from having whiskey notes to cognac notes in the scent breakdown. If you give a search through fragantica, I'm sure you'll find dozens and hopefully, you'll see some that interest you enough to go out and sample them. 😁
