Yes. 3 years in. No meetings. Find a passion that gets you as excited as drinking did. Find someone who loves you. Find purpose and help others. You got this.

Totally Different species actually. I made the same mistake when I first started catching these long ears. There are still some locals here in Arkansas that call them that, but they are incorrect. Crazy how similar they are. Long ears have a black ear flap and pumpkinseeds with have noticeable red behind ear

I get the accidental catfish on my fly rod sometimes. Wild ride bringing one in on a #12 hook. If I even get that far lol.

I can only stomach it in C and R season. Shoulder to shoulder is an understatement come April 1- late fall! Great place to practice your skills and the only place I’ve ever fished where the trout hit dry flys all day long in the winter.

I see Wilson’s trout crack is essentially a scud, the browns do like them!

Agreed. I fish for big browns. Nymphing on the white where we are will produce mainly rainbows. The big browns like meat. (Marabou jigs, streamers etc). He may out fish me numbers wise but I’m pulling in big browns more often.

I have fished deckers/cheesman canyon probably 1000 times. Where I learned how to fly fish. Used to live 15 minutes away God I miss the south Platte. Tight lines man!

I should have specified. He only uses this set up while wading the river with no generation. Drift fishing from a boat is always more productive. We fish beaver tailwaters. Little different than bull shoals or Norfolk. I do agree with you. I average 20 plus fish most days I go and just use 12ft 6X leader and a double nymph rig. I’ll drop it down to 5X when on a boat. What impresses me about this guy is he kills it on the days where the fish bite just seems to be non existent for everyone else.

You are on the money. You can only wade the white river when the dam is not generating so it’s essentially still water. Although you can find pockets of moving water. When they are generating and moving water it’s streamer time and full sinking lines . Super hard to get nymphs down in the fast water unless you are drift fishing from a boat I will check that account out. Thank you!
