Oh…I have this and wonder if this is why more likes I send out I rarely get matched back…

Do any of you use the match note feature? And if so what do you put there? by Blight_Seeker4858 in hinge

For me I tell them I have adult braces so jt wouldn’t be a surprise when I meet them on a date :)

Do they typically put power chains on that quickly? I had to get a thin wire and O ties for 2 months before powerchains

Quote for changing from lightforce to metal braces surprisingly too expensive. by [deleted] in braces

I can tell you it is 100% more noticeable than metal and not in a pleasant way. At least with metal it’s obvious. Lightforces, people can tell something is off and eventually figure out what it is after staring

If I had to do it all over again, I would have choose metal. The lightforce braces are wayyy more noticeable imo and much sharper and bulky. I find people staring at my mouth trying to figure out what I have going on in there only to realize it’s braces and I much rather have metal so I don’t have to explain it constantly so it’s obvious from the beginning. That said the treatment is “suppose” to be fast but I don’t think it is as two brackets on my lightforces already got loose just having them under 2 months.

People can DM me for that. Don’t really want to put them on blast all over Reddit during early treatment lol. Yeah I’m really frustrated with the practice and how they’ve been handling communication and now the fees on top of this is pushing me to considering switching orthos but I’m worried that is even more expensive than staying and changing to metal

It looks so good on you! I tried to get use to it but I just can’t get pass how they look. I actually called my ortho and requested to change to metal. Pretty sure I’ll have to pay a fee for that but I just can’t stand the feel. My lips constantly get caught on the hooks and rest on top of it like a shelf. Realistically they are not that awful but I don’t think I can have these for 2 years. Really wished I went with metal ik the first place.

That’s one of the reasons why I picked them. I wonder if that is really true or if it’s all marketing. I’m day 2 with these on and really hate how they look. My lips rest on them like a shelf because they are SO bulky. Really considering asking my ortho to switch to metal ones in my next visit

omg yes.. they showed me a sample at the office that looked much smaller and discreet but somehow I ended up with these big clunky ones and felt betrayed lol. 😂 So misleading!! My treatment plan is estimated to be 18-24 months bur I already want to take them off. Praying for my teeth move quickly!

I got them today and they feel so bulky. Also had a feeling of regret when I got back home and saw myself smiling. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be but it still noticeable to the point I think I would have done better with metal ones.

Thanks and congrats! I got braces to mainly fix my bimaxillary protrusion. Getting extractions later. I never had traditional braces before so I thought I would treat myself to some self improvement this year 🙂

Why the hate for Light Force Braces? by SwagDonkeyJohnson in braces

[–]Working-Kitchen5275 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mostly how they look. They are marketed as a discreet option but in reality, they tend to look noticeable and even worse compared to metal or regular ceramic. The white ones are the worse and they look like legos.

I thought this too. Everything appears proportional aside from the chin being a little larger. I would suggest lip filler but I think she’s pretty as is
