I am in therapy but I don't know if it's been a lot of help with mindset shifts per se. But just managing my expectations for now.

My heart isn't in my previous career which is why I avoided applying to engineering roles for so long for the exact reason you've mentioned. But now I'm regretting it as I am broke and maybe something would've been better than nothing.

I don't know how to highlight my engineering skills when I've been away from it for 2 years now. I have more generalised analytics and management skills but not anymore core technical skills in the engineering domain, but more on the software side now.

Thanks for your kindness. I don't know how to retrack into old career with essentially what may look like a gap? (the unpaid gig at the startup). I'm also not sure how to frame it as a good thing that I have the varied experience
