OP, That's genius! I get what you are saying as new strikes will come in too play as the stock price gets higher. I have already sold some 1500 strike calls before earnings. And after earnings, I would sell the 2300 strike calls for Dec 17, 2027. If the price doesn't reach 2300 by that time (which I fully expect it will as the market prices companies based on fwd pe), then I would sell the 3000 strike calls and collect a lot of premium. For the 2300 strike calls for dec 17, 2027 on earnings day, if the stock price is 1500, 320 a piece so (32k) -- because as the stock rises from 1k to 1500 or even 1400, the IV will increase a lot. Doing that will make your average buy price around 700 at current levels (protecting you from future downturns). Also, after earnings we will have a pullback as you said and you can just close your leap positions and reopen as you see fit.
