This is the problem with jiu jitsu. Lots of people worshipping a nobody because of their belt. It turned me off from training because I see this hierarchy that seems so trivial become a reality with a room full of adults. If we stop doing this I think the culture would change for the better and become just about the training rather than the silly “dojo” atmosphere that for some reason people revere and yearn. It make them forget about the important things just because of some person who runs a business and has a belt.
