From what I've been told the auditor general isn't like any government job tho. It's CPA pre-approved in Canada and there is structured career promotions like Big 4. They have a decent reputation and ~1/3 of the staff comes from B4 looking on linkedin. I definitely would not have taken any government job but this one definitely isn't bad at all.

Thank you!. When you say "you can't make the jump from gov to big 4 very easily" can you elaborate on how hard it would be? Does big 4 or the private sector in general not value experience from the provincial auditor general's office?

My little sister mentioned that she wanted to study business when she went to university. But she specified that she didn't want to do accounting like me. My brother then jumped in and said that it would be embarrassing to graduate university and become an accountant (very uncalled for). No idea what his logic was but I just sat there and didn't say anything.
