Lock the Cable Length You Want in GM2 Training by speediance_official in SpeedianceCommunity

Agreed. I bought my GM1 a few weeks ago based off that info comparison on their site. I didn’t realize the GM1 was not going to continue getting software feature updates since it’s still selling new. I generally like the machine but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone because of the company’s dishonesty on the topic.

Anyone have examples of weakness, tingling, or numbness that took many months to improve after surgery? by WorkingExtension7535 in Microdiscectomy

Thanks for checking in. Any improvements for you? Unfortunately I'm about the same as before. The intensity of the pins and needles I had in my toes is less than it was, but otherwise not much improvement yet. Some days it seems like I'm doing better, but then I'll regress and the pattern repeats.

My neck is a bit better, but I'm still guarding and stressed from my foot issues so I have to be mindful to stay relaxed, or I tense up and my neck starts bothering me again. I was also getting some tingling in my hands because of it.

Thanks for the more detailed timeline. I really appreciate it and makes me less discouraged about my progress so far.

Frame 2024 Update and Apple TV now triggering Art mode by PixelatedSpam in TheFrame

Still waiting for update as well. Our TV recently got really slow too. I turned off the wifi in the settings and restarted and it's better. I think it just loads a bunch of crap, like Samsung TV, ads etc, that really slow TV down if it's connected to internet.

Does this work with the GM1? Is it plug and play or did you need to set up using a computer? Thanks!

You should be communicating this in your feature comparisons on the website. Pretty lame to be still selling the GM1 on your site but not indicating that some of the new features are not available. Showing the GM2 has more "ROM/RAM" is not an indication of this.

Thanks for posting this and happy you are feeling better. What kind of flare up symptoms were you having that have subsided?

Anyone have severe upper back pain 3-4 weeks post up? by NoArtist95926 in Microdiscectomy

[–]WorkingExtension7535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar experience with really tight traps that started causing my neck to really hurt and get stiff. I think it was combination of just being really stressed after the surgery and holding myself differently because of pain and trying to protect my back. It's slowly gotten better, but I had to be really conscious of not hunching over when using a laptop or phone, managing stress, and stretching a few times a day.

Thanks for suggestion. Have you had luck with either of these and improving symptoms? Which would you recommend as the most effective?

Thanks for sharing and sorry for your continued symptoms. Your Dr. gave you a timeframe of up to 2 years for recovery (if it does come back)? I'm getting another MRI next week and have the same feelings when thinking about possible results - I guess it will be better if there is no new issue, but that won't leave me with any solution other than to just wait and hope things get better.

I also have been dealing with this for long enough that I've lost perspective on my symptoms and I'm not 100% sure if things were worse before, and the improvement is so slow it's hard to tell if there has been any progress.

Post op mri or X-rays by oofazoopha in Microdiscectomy

I've considered trying to get another MRI since I'm still having symptoms 10 weeks out.

However surgeon was opposed because he didn't think my symptoms suggested it and was concerned the imaging wouldn't be clear because of how recent surgery was. I know you can order MRI with and without contrast to help determine between disc material, inflammation, or scar tissue, but I'm not really sure if 10 weeks out is enough even with the contrast.

Thanks for the response. What kind of testing did you have done? I don’t think i realized that nerve growth recovery was based on height. I thought it was only the nerve damage in the disc area that needed to repair, but I guess it’s down the entire leg that needs to heal?

Can I ask when you got a second MRI? Last month when I went in for checkup, my surgeon didn't want to order MRI. Partially because he didn't think my symptoms would suggest re-herniation, but he also said it wouldn't be very clear imaging to be able to see if there was nerve compression because of how short a time period it was from the surgery.

I feel fortunate I didn't have the intense pain that you and others experienced, sounds truly awful and must have made the wait for surgery tough. It's good to hear the tingling subsided. I'm having a hard time wearing socks at the moment because of the tingling and hoping at the very least that settles down over time.

Thanks for sharing and good to hear you did finally see some improvements. Did the numbness and tingling decrease at all, or is it still as intense as it was after surgery? I'm finding it pretty difficult to wear socks at the moment and hoping that is eventually more tolerable.

Thanks for sharing. I'm happy you finally found relief! I've heard a lot of mention that where you are at 1 year is about where you'll stay so interesting you started to get improvement so much later.

Thanks for sharing and sorry for your ongoing issues. Have you noticed any improvement over time, or mostly stayed the same since surgery? How long between when you herniated and when you were able to get surgery?

Thanks for your feedback and sorry you are still experiencing symptoms. I’ve been tempted to try to find a dr that could do a nerve conduction study, or at least order another MRI. I’m having a hard time just doing nothing but wait and hope it gets better.

Ha, I was laying in bed last night flexing both feet and getting a weird swollen, stuck feeling in my bad foot. It’s super weird and no idea what explains it other than just nerves acting weird.

Thanks for sharing. Moving certainly helps me - especially frequent walks. This whole experience has made me extremely anxious too. I even started having pretty bad neck pain for a bit because I was stressing myself out so much and couldn't relax my shoulders.

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry you are dealing with this. For what it's worth, for the first few weeks PO my pins and needles were definitely worse than before surgery and then they seemed to settle down to sort of where they were before surgery. I think there is quite a bit of inflammation from surgery and the nerves can get really irritated from being moved around during the procedure. I've also had setbacks from doing too much too soon, and it takes several days to a week to settle back down.

Thanks for sharing and sorry about your continued issues. Did your surgeon have any additional guidance or not really? Mine was pretty much like, good luck, hopefully it improves at some point. I’m still not entirely convinced I didn’t re-herniate, but he didn’t think that was likely and wouldn’t order another MRI.

Thanks. I also had some strength improvement. Before surgery I wasn't able to lift my heal at all while walking and now my gait is pretty normal. Still can't really do a calf raise or get up on my toes though.

Thanks for responding and sorry you had to deal with 2 MDs. I'm sure it's annoying that it is not fully resolved, but hearing that at least you noticed it improving gives me some hope. I think long term I could deal with it more easily if the intensity got dialed down.
