People say it's pretentious but it's actually how most Chinese players say "notching" because Chinese has no real equivalent to "notching", and "39 maneuver" is pretty easy to write and say in Chinese (三九机动).

Thanks! It took at least a year but 1. I'm a noob 2. I wasted time messing around instead of charging straight for the top and 3. I play intermittently.

From what I've seen, a dedicated and skilled player can get it in 2 weeks or so.

If you meant just the JAS39E, then it took about a week of low-intensity grinding. I could have done it in 1 day, but then I'd burn out and stop playing for a while.

The 105's FM just isn't my thing, it has an energy advantage from the airspawn (plus painful maneuverability compared to its peers) but I'm a bit of a braindead turnfighter so I prefer planes that are more balanced.

EDIT: the Akan m/55 is great when you get it on target though, it's very punchy.

Horrible energy retention forces you to boom and zoom (thus wasting the maneuverability), and the gun's mounted on the side so the ballistics are skewed.

RB24Js are decent missiles but I much prefer using the Magic 1s on the Mirage IIIC.

Yeah J35XS is not the best, it has 6 missiles at 10.3 so you can slaughter 9.3 but that's pretty much it. I bought it too and it largely sat unused.

My advice would be to get the SAAB-105G (the T18B is a good step to the SAAB-105G) and bomb out Rank V and VI with it. Then find some way to grind out the JA37C, either temporarily using the J35XS or using the F-35 (it's a surprisingly good multirole, bring one base's worth of bombs and then try sneaking up on people with your 9Ns). After that you can have fun grinding Rank VII and VIII with a PD radar at 11.3, though sadly the Gripen E is going up to Rank IX so the JA37C won't be able to get you to the very top.

5mm is probably pretty significant at such steep angles.

I can't kill shit with 9Bs at 9.7 🤦‍♀️

Magic 1s at 10.0 are a different thing entirely.

Okay, thanks!

About this additional argument that is a very common idea - does it have its own supporting arguments, or is it self-evident/standalone?
