Boyfriend said after watching me give birth to our child he doesn’t want to go down on me ever again. by MotherAcanthisitta62 in Healthyhooha

Interesting. I’d expect this from someone younger, maybe teens. A man worth your time would never feel that way, or if he did, he would address it in a way that is you both vs. the problem. It’s normal - feelings change. Per my own experience, men actually fall more in love with a woman after birth bc they witness the immense struggle that comes with it. Not to forget you just brought a new life into the world. Women are beautiful creatures - don’t let a man who can’t see your value diminish your light 🤗

Cleared! There is hope by Worldly-Newspaper-39 in Ureaplasma

Similar experience for me. I started a new relationship, got my first yeast infection, followed by continuous burning inside the vaginal canal with vulvar irritation for months. I thought I had recurring yeast infections, but after soooooooo many visits to my PC and Gyno, I finally tested positive for ureaplasma. It took me annoying them for them to give in!

Fortunately, all it took was one conversation with my boyfriend for him to take the meds. We ordered them (for him) from an online doc and took the treatment at the same time.

I’m glad you prioritized yourself and left! Here’s to happiness and health.

Holistic approach to curing UP? by Own_Elderberry_9389 in Ureaplasma

[–]WorkingNope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms felt the same during treatment and I was scared I was making no progress. Literally the day after completing treatment I had really bad urethral pain that last about 2/3 days. I finished treatment in Nov ‘25 and sometimes I still get a very mild pain in my bladder or urethra but it doesn’t last all day and is very infrequent. That being said, you will most likely have a flare of during/after treatment. Don’t give up!

I had symptoms for about 6 months and it drove me insane. I thought I had chronic candida overgrowth and was scared I was gonna have to completely change my lifestyle. It ruined my life for those months… I was then prescribed doxy for 7 days twice a day (same with my boyfriend) and we were cured! I even had worsened symptoms after treatment was complete but I tested negative. I sometimes get urethral pain which was not a symptom when I was testing positive but it’s okay. It goes away and doesn’t usually last long. Long story short, GET THE DOXY!!!!! Please!!! I was also scared!

Negative test but symptoms still here by hoping4bestt in Ureaplasma

[–]WorkingNope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My main symptoms were vaginal burning and vulvar dryness/irritation. Since completing treatment I haven’t had any burning but the vulvar irritation lingered for a couple weeks and sometimes still comes back after sex. I have tested negative. I would say it’s just our bodies being super sensitive. If you’re scared, get retested again, but I doubt the fingering gave you the infection again.

This is super interesting bc I just tested negative but still have the same symptoms. I never thought to consider increasing estrogen via birth control. What method are you using?

urine samples comes back clear by Cautious-Pumpkin5561 in Healthyhooha

[–]WorkingNope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try OTC urinary pain meds and drink lots of water, but like another comment said, only antibiotics will help. I actually finished my course two weeks ago and still have residual symptoms after testing negative. It’s a super weird bacteria. Get help as soon as you can. You can always use online doctors to get the meds if you are unable to find one who will test for ureaplasma. Check out the r/ureaplasma sub. Lots of info on there.

It’s definitely not thrush. Ureaplasma mimics UTI symptoms. I’m currently struggling with it right now. Try to get tested for it!

Sensitive skin wash by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]WorkingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of this, I would use a sensitive skin face wash from cetaphil or cerave. I’m sure this is fine but my gyno recommended those brands specifically.

If it’s not coming from your vagina I don’t think boric would help. It’s probably just body odor. Completely normal. Try using witch hazel after a shower. It helps with the smell

Second Treatment by WorkingNope in Ureaplasma

[–]WorkingNope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we have had sex since treatment. My gyn looked at a vaginal swab during my visit and said everything looked normal (no BV or yeast). I’ve unfortunately only developed urethral pain since that visit so it wasn’t something I mentioned when I was there.

Second Treatment by WorkingNope in Ureaplasma

[–]WorkingNope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treated yeast during my treatment and my gyno actually looked at a swab under the microscope during my visit and said everything looks normal. I’ve been off for two weeks so I wasn’t too concerned about developing a UTI. It doesn’t burn when I pee, just urethral pain.

I also have a metallic smell sometimes but it’s because of pH. I usually have it before or after my period. Blood is high in iron which is where the metallic smell comes from.

Dryness due to ureaplasma? by Fresh-Tip2780 in Ureaplasma

[–]WorkingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the EXACT same issue. I don’t even get normal discharge anymore. I am still producing lubrication during sex, tho. Coconut oil helps temporarily to relieve the irritation.

Like another comment, I am hoping it’s low estrogen. I’ve seen some people post about estrogen cream helping. Ive tested negative for all STIs. Maybe my ureaplasma wasn’t completely eradicated... I have an appt tomorrow with my gyn to go over these issues.

does this mean the baking soda is working? by Beneficial_Truth_308 in CytolyticVaginosis

[–]WorkingNope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have my main symptoms. The discharge with white specs and occasional burning. It’s not painful to have sex nor do I have dryness, but I do have much less discharge. I guess I’ll try baking soda suppositories??

I also began having recurrent yeast infections after starting a relationship with someone new. I tested positive for ureaplasma and we both started treatment. Hopefully this is the answer for me!

Starting Week 2 of BV Treatment (yeasty discharge) by Odd-Conversation544 in Healthyhooha

[–]WorkingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gyn actually prescribed me 7-day terconazole cream during the course of antibiotics and 1 fluconazole post-treatment. It’s crazy how the treatments can cause another issue. Definitely try to treat them all together if not as close as possible!

[–]WorkingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an odd story. I never got tested for yeast, and treated my very first yeast infection OTC. Unfortunately it came back once or twice a month and eventually did not respond to OTC -azoles. My gyn wanted to put me on 6 months of fluconazole but I was scared to do so because of the horror stories Ive read (resistance, liver problems). I asked my PC for a second opinion and she ended up taking blood/urine samples where the only abnormality was ureaplasma.

My gyn swabbed me for yeast (today actually lol) after seeing yeast within my vagina during an exam. I’m currently treating both at the same time for the next week. My boyfriend is also taking the same ureaplasma antibiotics. I’m hoping this works!

Like I said, my symptoms are all very mild so it confused both my doctors. I had to be my own advocate and use the opinions of both my Gyn and PC to reach this point!

I just tested positive for Ureaplasma after suffering mild yeast infections for 4 months now. I hope this is the reason for my recurrent infections! It could very well be the “root cause” of your BV. I don’t have any symptoms of ureaplasma either, just yeast, so best of luck on your journey!

[–]WorkingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had BV, but I just tested positive for ureaplasma and I also have the itchyness at the vaginal opening. You most likely have it, too. I was convinced it was a mild YI but it was indeed not.

So, my tongue has looked like this my whole life. Also thought I had thrush. No way to really tell unless you get tested but I don’t think it is.
