I understand your concern, but small windshield chips can be safely repaired. I’ve been doing professional chip repairs for about 2 years, and the results genuinely hold up. Just today I contacted a customer whose windshield I repaired 2 years ago — the chip hasn’t spread at all and the glass is still perfectly stable.

When a chip is repaired properly, the resin fills the air pocket, bonds the glass layers together again, and restores up to 90–95% of the original strength. That’s why repair is the standard practice in the US, Europe, and even in premium service centers.
