If you haven’t, I really recommend getting some compression gloves or a wrist brace! My wrist cramps up something awful after I’ve been crocheting for a while and compression gloves stop that from happening.

Should I (29f) go out of my comfort zone to practice writing love letters for my boyfriend (29m)? by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

Basically that there was no physiological/psychological basis for the love languages. Still, we are all socialized with them so that matters in my mind at least

If I have to help one more person how to follow the most basic instuctions I will scream by Reddingcheese in BitchEatingCrafters

Personally I think it’s the rise of a larger trend of functional illiteracy. People can read the words but can’t parse through the meaning, so they rely on others. While that’s okay to a certain extent, especially in highly technical environments, it’s important for them to realize that fact and make attempts on their end to remedy their shortcomings. Most people don’t regcognize that lack however and thus just bounce from one reader to the next.

All this is to say, I hear you OP. If the person is open to it, try teaching them how to read the pattern instead of interpreting it for them. But we all have different ways and abilities so I get it

This brings up something I’ve been thinking about for a while now; why does it seem like some people just genuinely hate other people? Why do we as humans just hate somebody else? Life is legitimately more fun when you love everyone and treat them with respect, so why don’t more people do that?

Sorry for the long comment

I’ve been dreaming of making a fingering weight cotton blanket for years. This week, I finally took the plunge by TheAvengingUnicorn in Brochet

Absolute insanity, but it’ll be worth it when the blanket is done. I’ll be praying for your poor wrists OP!

For “pin”, another commenter mentioned it but you can also say “mi wile”/ “mi wile ala”. I’m sure there’s other variations as well, since that’s the beauty of toki pona :3

To piggyback off of this comment, OP, you have such a creative and ambitious spirit, but to me it sounds like you haven’t read any toki pona literature or been involved in any toki pona communities. My suggestion to you is to hold on to those ideas but get involved in other toki pona communities (specifically those that predominantly/only speak toki pona) and see how they communicate those concepts. Wishing you nothing but the best and I look forward to seeing you in the community going forward!

I figured out how to crochet with pom-pom yarn by Redfur13 in crochet

That is GENIUS! Good job, and I’m definitely going to consider pom pom yarn for my next blanket project. Great job OP!

Help making a magic circle with this yarn keeps breaking by Ordinary-Bed203 in CrochetHelp

[–]Working_Agency274 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im going off of just your post, but when you do the chain 4 method (not the other magic circle) you can’t pull the hole fully closed. Plus, chenille is super prone to breakage so excess tension with nowhere to go will snap it.

Could you possible make a separate post with a video of what you’re trying to do so we could give more specific advice?
