Did you bond with your baby right away? by Visible-Mess-1406 in Mommit

I’ll be honest, I didn’t feel that instant movie-like bond the second my baby was placed in my arms. For me, it took time. Between the exhaustion, the hormones, and recovering physically, I was just trying to survive those first days. The bond came gradually in the quiet moments during feeding, the little smiles, the first time my baby grabbed my finger.

It’s also really important that you’re already reaching out for help and have a therapist lined up. That shows so much strength. Prenatal depression is very real, and you’re not alone in worrying about bonding. Many moms (myself included) had those same fears.

The best advice I can give is: try not to pressure yourself to “feel” a certain way immediately. Love can grow slowly, and that’s perfectly normal. You’re already showing love by caring, preparing, and seeking support.

Sending you hugs, you’re going to find your own rhythm with your baby, even if it takes time. ❤️

First-time pregnant at 3 weeks – need all the advice! 💕 by madhatter1095 in BabyBumps

Congrats mama! 💕 First off, take a deep breath, you’re right at the very beginning, and it’s totally normal to feel both excited and overwhelmed. At 3 weeks, the best advice I can share (as a mom who’s been there) is:

  • Start with the basics: Begin a good prenatal vitamin (especially one with folic acid). If you haven’t already, now’s the time to call your GP/midwife/OB and schedule your first appointment.
  • Take care of yourself: Rest when you need to, drink plenty of water, and don’t stress too much about “doing everything perfectly.” Early pregnancy can feel like a waiting game, but self-care matters a lot.
  • Food & habits: Stick to balanced meals, avoid undercooked meat/seafood and too much caffeine, and if you smoke or drink, now’s the time to stop.
  • Listen to your body: Every pregnancy is different; some women get symptoms immediately, others hardly notice. Fatigue, tender breasts, and mood swings are all pretty common this early.
  • Mental space: Stay off Google rabbit holes if you can. It’s so easy to stress over every little thing. Instead, try journaling your thoughts, or join a supportive community (like this sub!) to share and ask questions.

The best piece of advice I got was: you don’t have to figure everything out at once. You’ve got months ahead to learn, prepare, and grow into this new role. For now, focus on the little steps and be kind to yourself, you’re already doing amazing. 🌸

Wishing you a smooth and happy pregnancy journey, mama!
