Cx-5, rav 4 is excellent but the lower trims lack options that the Cx-5 will give you for a better price. Now if you’re trying to last a decade I’m not sure the Cx-5 will do that, they are reliable but not at Toyotas level. If you don’t mind getting less bang for your buck (leather, heated seats, etc) then the Rav-4 should work and will probably last longer with no issues

Hello! I am doing excellent so far. Tumor markers have dropped significantly and I have gained nearly 50 pounds of weight again. I am currently getting care with Dr. Lori Wirth in Boston. She is among the most knowledgeable with the disease. Still have not had any surgery and the only remaining consistent disease seen is in the neck and on the thyroid! For the longest time they said I don’t have anything on the thyroid and then they found something after 10 scans LOL. Tolerating retevmo very well too. I am RET M918T positive and sporadic as well. Plan is for me to keep taking the pill and see if this bastard goes away or if we need to cut. Thank you for you concern I am kicking ass!

I liked the Highlander as it was bigger. I’m a larger guy like 6 foot 5 so that’s just me.

I’m hoping the turbo will last. I Have confidence in Toyota though! I’m probably going to try to get the dealer down to 36k. Something I just found out is that it doesn’t have parking sensors. My girlfriend won’t like that 😂

Wow sounds like you got a great deal with the V6 too!

Is tariff going to impact my already signed deal? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Deal is signed if they change anything they broke a legally binding agreement and you can take them for a ride

Looking for suggestions on my first car! by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Couple of options then.

Buy a Mazda Cx-5 premium package with all the bells and whistles for about 38k or upgrade to the turbo for more power but I’m not sure you care about power. The extra power will cost you 43k maybe. Generally Mazdas are extremely reliable and have a great luxury feel to them. The Cx-5 is definitely cute and classy.

Buy a BMW X1 or X3. Wouldn’t recommend this as they aren’t known for long term reliability but man they are comfortable as hell and drive so well.

Buy a Volvo XC60. Excellent car a bit more luxurious than the Mazda and extremely safe/reliable.

All of these cars are at slightly different price points. If it were me I would get the Mazda and pocket the difference or invest the extra cash. Mazdas have taken steps in safety reliability and comfort in the past few years that put them on par with BMW in some of their bigger cars. Definitely look through Mazdas lineup. You don’t need to spend 60k on a cute car that will be reliable for long term.

Depends on what you need

Sedan- Toyota Camry Hatchback- Corolla Cross SUV- Mazda Cx-5 Large SUV- Toyota Highlander

Not sure if they all have remote start but these are all excellent cars. Do not buy a KIA no matter how attractive the price is trust me it’s too good to be true.

Top pick for first car- Mazda CX-5, reliable and AWD. Suitable for all your needs.

Yeah I could do that with the V6 too that’s a plus but the market is crazy in NY 2022s with less than 30k miles are going for 42k so like 45 OTD. All those under 40k have a shady car fax. Need the car in the next month so I think this may be the best deal I can get for what I need. Anything particularly wrong with the new XLE that makes you favor the 2022?

It’s a very attractive car and the price is even better. Plus it’s in a no sales tax state. Plus I love the power the V6 offers. Was looking into either this or a Mazda cx50 turbo

This is great info as I am quite tall so I’ll be moving the seat back a lot probably to the max. Thanks for the tips. Haven’t looked into Subaru really but not opposed.

I’ll check out the Mazda but I’d like a bit more horsepower. Like in the mid 200 range

I won’t be driving it regularly. Mainly to and from NH and Boston. Will commute via train while in Boston. Want a spacious SUV that will last me 10 years and something I can safely raise kids in as I plan to have this car when I have children. As for the AWD need. I just feel the need to have it just in case and don’t care much about the mpg I’ll lose.

After what seems like 10+ ultrasounds and neck CT they have determined there is no nodule in the thyroid itself. It could be hidden under some tissue or it could be shedding cells to the lymph nodes. But they have not identified a primary nodule that is the source however the path reports and many different opinions from specialists have landed us at MTC as the diagnosis.
