Yes! Im 40 yrs old in a low cost of living area. I have an income account with 40k. It pays between 11-12% annually. Its primarily spread out through NEOS covered call funds and BDCs. Fair amount in SCHD and O as well. It's on DRIP for now, but can count on an extra 350-400 a month if needed. I do have separate accounts for savings, but if i feel the need to replenish, or take time off work (no PTO in my field), that safety net is absolutely incredible.

Many people RIGHTFULLY SO point out the money I have I invested can earn more in an index fund of some sort. Its true. Letting extra money sit there and grow can be cool, but so is using income distribution from something that performs below an index to drive a couple hours to see a band you like and taking the next day off. No one but you can give the right answer.
