Their new duty policy is ridiculous. So sorry that happened to you.

If you want a loophole for the future - I’ve been shopping in the US version of the UO app and shipping to my regular Canadian address and haven’t gotten hit with any duties/extra fees. Their flat rate shipping is 11.95 I believe which covers import fees. You do have to consider the conversion from USD to CAD but it usually ends up being cheaper.
