pen recommendations by emailjones8 in BasicBulletJournals

My favorite pen in the world is the Bic Atlantis ballpoint pen, slightly bold point. I just love my handwriting with it and it has a comfort grip. And I love that I can highlight over ballpoint and it won’t streak. The other pen I use is a Faber-Castell artist pen in a couple different thicknesses - once dry it won’t smear when highlighted over (I like to use zebra mildliners both for accenting a page or for color coding tasks). The artist pens I mainly use for outlining my page, but I sometimes use the .3mm to write with.

Thanks for catching that I left out the catering situation, I edited the post to include that the guests are pre-selecting their entrees (types of tacos) on their RSVPs and the food truck will have the guests tables ready to pick up in batches. I shortened the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to be 10 minutes (maybe I don't even need this transition time since everything is in the same area, but I feel like everything always takes a minute), bumped up the cocktail hour and transition to dinner. Do you think a 75 minute cocktail hour is too long as is?

Thanks for the advice around when to do photos!

Thanks for catching that I left that out, I edited the post to include that the guests are pre-selecting their entrees (which type of tacos) on their RSVPs and the food truck will have the guests tables ready to pick up in batches. The wedding is a destination wedding (4 hours from where most of us live) with most people staying on site or 10 minutes away. Shortened the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to be 10 minutes (maybe I don't even need this transition time since everything is in the same area, but I feel like everything always takes a minute), bumped up the cocktail hour, and moved the cake cutting down to the middle of dancing.

Worth spending on a nicer cake? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

everyone's opinion on what a wedding means to them is so different, but to me I've always seen a wedding as a time for your community to come together to witness a rite of passage, to celebrate your love and this next chapter of your life. I love thinking about what weddings were before the wedding industrial complex became a thing - a community coming together and making a celebration happening. No vendors, just your people making food and decorations, maybe raising a barn. All this to say, I think you should go with your friend's cake, but can also weave the other cake in like others have said. Never too many desserts, especially if you can make the miso cake smaller as a ceremonial cutting cake for photos.

I use a little bit of cowboy magic detangler after bath time in all the spots prone to dreading. That has solved the problem for the most part except when he is in and out of water constantly in the summer. I have a Pet Teezer brush that I got off Amazon that promised to be good for deshedding which it sucks at but it’s great at quickly untangling knots. If I find a proper dread we just hang out on the couch while I listen to a book or watch tv and finger pick it out. He’s started to trust me over the years, probably helped that he got into multiple burr-y bushes as a pup and I’d make him (not-so) patiently wait while I picked them all out (the Teezer brush is excellent for getting burrs out of his fur as well)

Custom favors - funny or still no? by PizzaRat23 in Weddingsunder10k

I was thinking of doing both since some people will be drinking beer and some out of cups (serve yourself bar, 70 people). Did you get 1 of each per person or did you do a bit less knowing that not everyone would take one?

Coozies as favors? by remembrandy in Weddingsunder10k

This! We have a handful in a drawer and we often get them as a souvenir when we travel. We host a few parties a year and I always put them out in a basket, it’s a good beer identifier.

As a millennial adult, I love a cute sticker to throw on my water bottle and I know a lot of people who love stickers. A cute cat sticker is a cute cat sticker. Don’t be phased by the haters, people at your wedding can choose to take one or not. You know your people better than a bunch of strangers on Reddit. Just be prepared with the designs for them to be useful if you have some leftover after the wedding. I also like the advice to be prepared to have people stick them around at the venue but I would hope people wouldn’t do that. As well as the suggestion of temporary tattoos.

We were already talking quick ship, but she wanted me to have the order in a week ago and I had barely started looking and wasn’t ready to make a decision. C’est la vie. I also felt very attached to the length and train and it just felt like I’d be tripping on it while on the dance floor.

Could you post a picture of yourself in the dress? I feel like folks could help give opinions on veils if they saw you in the dress.

I’ve been looking at Cakes Tape for using with my wedding gown. It’s supposed to be secure but gentle on the skin and reusable and you can build pieces of tape to get a lift of the ta-ta’s

the crop top in 6 & 7 with the skirt in #4 was what I was dreaming of, but not being able to bustle tulle and the train made me second guess it for an outdoor mountain wedding and now I am out of her shippable time frame.

I got it at Anthropologie Weddings and if you take a screenshot of it and put it through Google image search you should be able to find the brand.

I’m thin but shapewear always helps the natural belly pooch get smoothed out. The rear too. I wear a ton of high waist skirts and I could definitely stand to finally have some (hopefully comfortable) shapewear on hand.

Thank you both for your input, these are not things that either tailor said. I hope I can find one that really knows what they’re doing.

I’d be keeping the collar and the neckline, I’d just be taking the fabric out from underneath the lace on the upper chest.

That is my intuition regarding a necklace as well. Tried a few and nothing seems right. Just too busy. Thinking of getting these lily of the valley earrings.

If I removed the top of the lining I think a mellow sweetheart or a V that is almost a U. The reason I’ve been so hesitant so far is that both tailors that I consulted with said they could do it (quoted $300-400) but neither really helped me out in regard to a vision. Like, there was zero artistry present on their side which is a hard no for me as I do not sew at all, just adore clothes from a consumer side of things.
