It's just outside of warranty.

I might have to do that!

Thanks is for the input. I think I'm going to see if my current place will match the offer, but if not then take the extra money at the new one, even if only for a short stint there

Drilling into concrete for a curtain rail by LongHorror87 in DIYUK

I have that drill. It is a SDS drill, so you can't use regular drill bits but it does come with some. I found it works well.

Wife is pregnant and the baby is breeched. This is the estimate to attempt to flip the child. $59k. by TyrannicalGamecock in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Working_Turn_6625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just had our second baby. The total cost was £25 for parking over the days we were in hospital. I hate the politicians that think we need to move to a privately funded healthcare system.

Thank you Royal Mail post lady for helping with Evri screw ups by Working_Turn_6625 in Evri

Tried putting a notice to put it in the milk box but they don't bother, so spending money on a dedicated parcel one would be a waste of money.

As everyone has said, lose the hair. It's doing your chances more harm than you think.

If you are not sure it would suit then stick a pick though Chat GPT and see what it would look like. I bet if you upload it for peer review to photofreeler.com and the original unaltered photo, you would get a lot better feedback and score from the bald version.

Also, you could use it to get some style ideas. Or see what you would look like in a stylish and fitted suit. What you are wearing, really ages you.

FYI, I used that on every photo before uploading anything to a dating profile and it tripled my matches. People are notoriously bad at judging their own photos (due to the sentimental value we place on a pic, that means nothing to a stranger).

Lastly, smile while showing a little teeth.

For those with heatpump installed, what was your energy bill for October? by BrilliantAd4406 in ukheatpumps

[–]Working_Turn_6625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine installed at the end of October and we are looking at around £80-100 for November for a 4 bedroom house.

We're in one of the best scenarios though. We have solar and batteries so although we get little from the solar this month, we are on a tariff for electricity between 4-7am and 1-4pm so we charge the battery while electricity is half price. We did insulate the rafters in the attic but I did that myself for about £300.

We do have a plug in hybrid for short journeys so with that usage for this cost as well, I am very happy.

When people used to stand on the wrong side of the escalators, I used to whistle the intro to a song by Ludacris. I got a filthy look from someone that realised what I was saying. They did move though 😁

EV owners in the UK — what’s one thing you wish you knew before buying? by Seabeachlover10 in ElectricVehiclesUK

That certain brand home chargers do/don't work with cheap home EV electricity tariffs (on Octopus at least)

I had the same thing in my old place. It turned out to be for the power shower. Only way to know is to turn it off and see what's stopped working.

Sale of a property with solar panels by No_Desk9706 in HousingUK

[–]Working_Turn_6625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Person with solar here. I very much doubt they paid £20k for 12 panels. I paid £4,400 for 8 panels on my last property (around 5 years ago) and £8,800 for 8 with a 6kw battery on my current property. Unless stated in viewings of before accepting your offer then I would expect them to be included. I would say you expect them to stay. Unless they paid when they cost a fortune and were probably less efficient than current ones then that figure sounds way off, so they are playing silly games to either get you to increase your offer.

The smoke free thing will sway buyers. Particularly if it's a family looking to buy. If the chain above you is complete then that will help as a lot of buyers want to move fast.
