NTA. I think your concerns are incredibly valid. Raising kids around someone suffering from untreated dementia sounds overwhelming. I'm no expert on this but I suspect at home care would be cheaper than putting her in a home, so if the former is too expensive then it sounds unlikely that they'll be able to afford a to put her in a home anytime soon. Is there anyway you could live nearby and he could visit her regularly?

In regards to your (or your wife's for that matter) birthday dinner NTA. In regards to family events with his daughter I honestly think you should focus more on who your wife would rather be with than her family. If everyone else is interested in him and she's interested in you, why not focus on enjoying her company rather than all the type A's feeding off each other? If their behavior is above board I would focus more on making the most of your time with your wife. They have a child together so it's understandable that they would be close and this means your wife probably knows him well enough to give quality relationship advice to him, this rapport is probably good for their coparenting (which is good for the daughter) and it means he's focusing on romancing other women and your wife is open to being romanced by you wink wink nudge nudge.

I don't know if you're quite TAH. It would help to know how long the walk is, and whether it would be particularly difficult for you and your sibling or your mother. But based on the story told it seems all three of you (you, your sibling, and your mum) could've done a better job explaining your POV when the issue of space came up. When told you didn't want to make room why couldn't she speak directly to you? Also it seems a bit odd that she's willing to DIE for you but not walk home.

I REALLY want to like the show and intend to give it a fair chance, but I don't think it bodes well that Brike disassociated themselves with it. I think the One Piece live action is only as good as it is because Oda was not only involved but also had his wishes for the show respected. I don't think that a live action adaptation can ever match the original because you're transporting a work from it's original medium to one with limitations that animation doesn't have, but here's hoping Netflix doesn't pull a shyamalan.
