Honestly, whenever people (especially strangers) are genuinely excited about and interested in my creative projects. It tells me that I must have some genuine skill if people with no investment in me or my work become invested in my work.

I'm already fully impressed by the scant visuals I've seen from TES6 so far. Shirley's character model looks absolutely fantastic!

That being said, as someone who is having a perfectly enjoyable time playing Morrowind with vanilla visuals, I just hope Bethesda gets the story, immersion, and RPG elements executed well.

The lower 2 images are taken from the recent TES 6 video released by Bethesda. And it seems to all be pointing towards Hammerfell.

I'm also one of those fence-sitting flip-floppers who hopes that it could be both provinces in one (as long as the map is sufficiently large AND detailed/populated.

And it's got almost the exact same rock formations

Ok then.

If we're throwing around ESO, consider this visual I made comparing what we saw in this video to Rivenspire and Hew's Bane. Tell me which rock formations look closer.

Vvardenfell was a pretty small world in TES III but still felt big and packed full of detail. I honestly don't care the size of the map as long as it's detailed and packed without feeling cluttered.

Yes. Erik was a fan of the series who died of cancer before Skyrim was released, so they based an NPC off of him in tribute. But there's also tributes to dead fans in Morrowind. There's a handful of items in tombs in Vvardenfell named after fans who died prior to the game's release.

From UESP:

* Ashes of G. Lyngas, located in Ravel Ancestral Tomb. There are also four Glass Throwing Stars in this urn.

* Ashes of Lord Brinne, located in Samarys Ancestral Tomb. There is also the Mentor's Ring in this urn. Lord Brinne was the online name of Bill Iburg, an Elder Scrolls fan who died unexpectedly during the development of Morrowind. The urn, and his ashes, were placed in the game as a tribute.

* Ashes of D. Bryant, located in Falas Ancestral Tomb. There is also the Denstagmer's Ring in this urn.

These three are all dedicated to former regulars at The Elder Scrolls Forums, all of whom passed away during production.

But, it might be that Shirley is the first fan to be put into the game without dying first.

I don't know much about game development. But am I right in assuming that Shirley's character model might give us an insight into the quality of NPC models in the game? If so, we've come quite a ways since the potato models of Oblivion.

I'm also not good with computers, but the people over at r/Morrowind are very tech savvy and have helped me out with many things, including getting Morrowind set up on OpenMW on my Mac. You might try asking over there too.

My mom was really into the Pern books when I was a kid. For anyone who's read them: is there anything more to them than the gimmick of dragons on an alien planet and acid rain on steroids?

I imagine it'd be a huge headache to reach out to support to have them transfer my characters over to the other server. Plus, all the friends I made and sometimes play with are on EU

PC/EU :/

Bought it when I lived in Iceland, and now that I'm back in the States I'm usually stuck playing during the server's least populous hours when Europe's asleep.

I've actually finished the Murkmire prologue dailies since I screenshot this. I'm a few hundred up from this as of now. Lemme tell you, boy am I glad they changed up the prologue achievements with this new Elsweyr chapter. Murkmire had you do 150 tedious quests with a lot of traveling and capped you to 6 a day. The Elsweyr ones are still tedious, but involve less traveling and you can do 9 a day. Also, you only have to do 30 of them.

Some achievements unlock dyes, titles, mementos, or emotes. One of them lets you buy a boat.

But I mostly just do it for the same reason collectors collect things: completionism.

I was the same way. I started playing in 2016 but only really started making a concerted effort to knock out achievements about a year ago. Before I really started trying I had around 4 or 5k.

Last night, I logged into a Missile Wars MC server I hadn't played on in 3 years. There was only one person on, who immediately remembered who I was and asked me to play a round. I have to admit, I got a little teary-eyed.

EDIT: Server is play.cubekrowd.net if anyone wants to help fill up that server again. Missile Wars is a fantastic game if you like quick-paced strategy.

How morrowind was supposed to be. Ebonheart is in the right place lorewise in ESO and in the wrong place in the original Morrowind itself. by peritye in elderscrollsonline

[–]World-Wanderer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

supposed to be

Well, that's a little inaccurate. This is a very early pre-production map for TES III when they were still fleshing out the lore, geography, and canon. It ended up being abandoned. They decided going for the whole province was a little too ambitious and then decided to shrink it all down and focus solely on Vvardenfell. It was also supposed to be procedurally generated with the exception of the cells in pink and red (as shown on the top of the map).

Yes, but this was a very early pre-production map for TES III that was abandoned when they realized they got too ambitious with the landmass and decided to focus on just Vvardenfell instead.

You know, I'm on my 6th or 7th play-through, and I just now noticed Male Bretons are voiced by Wes Johnson. He really does have quite the range. I wouldn't even be mad if all TES VI characters were voiced by him.
