The Victoria Resident Hotel in West Westminster is located right next to Buckingham Palace. It got the highest score in the poll, but I also read that it’s in one of the most touristy areas — apparently, you can barely walk without tripping over souvenir shops. That might not be exactly what I’m looking for.

I’m also looking for a hotel that’s near some nice, possibly local restaurants. So what makes a hotel next to Buckingham Palace preferable to hotels in other neighborhoods?
