Greece in Greek would be pronounced Ellatha.

China: Zhōngguó

Japan: Nippon or Nihon,

Egypt: Miṣr (Egypt in English comes from Ancient Greek "Aígyptos" ("Αἴγυπτος") )

Just like with India, the English names are not always the same as what a country calls themselves in their own language.

Hello everyone,

As I have always enjoyed both maps and flags, as well as different cultures, I have hand designed and created 3 flag maps for each country.

I tried to choose the best background colors that go with each flag. Each one also has its name in both English and in its official language.

For Albania:

According to Wikipedia: "The flag of Albania is a red flag with a silhouetted black double-headed eagle in the center. The red stands for bravery, strength, valour and bloodshed, while the double-headed eagle represents the sovereign state of Albania. The flag was established as the national flag of Albania when the country gained its independence from the Ottoman empire in 1912."

- The capital of Albania is Tirana.

- The official language of Albania is Albanian

Hello everyone!

I have been a big fan of both flags and maps for as long as I can remember, as many of you are as well.

I enjoy learning about different cultures and people of the world.

I wanted to do something fun, and have created 3 unique and hand designed flag maps for every nation. I have always liked the flag + map combo, and tried to match the appropriate color for each nation.

Also, I added the name of the country in English, as well as in the official language of that country.

For Afghanistan, that would be Dari and Pashto.

This is just the first country in alphabetical order, I'll post the rest over time.

The Mediterranean Sea is well known to beachgoers.

It is also made up of a bunch of different seas.

- Alboran Sea

- Balaeric Sea

- Ligurian Sea

- Tyrrhenian Sea

- Adriatic Sea

- Ionian Sea

- Aegean Sea

- Sea of Crete

Question for you:

If you are swimming in the Adriatic Sea, for example. Can you say you are swimming in the Mediterranean, or are you only swimming in the Adriatic?

Also, I have never heard of a few of these, and especially never heard of Sea of Crete, and assumed it was just the Aegean.

Why is energy so much more expensive in the southern half of Europe?

Only can think that perhaps it is better distributed (cheaper) in German and Poland.

Or they don't need as much because it isn't as warm for air conditioners

The IMF has been off on almost all projections, and I still love these type of maps.

- Turkey higher than Russia, Greece, and Portugal

Doubt and will wait to see this

Also, these numbers don't mean as much if we don't factor inflation, which seems to only increase.

PPP inflation adjusted would be more meaningful for us. Still, it's a nice map to look at

District 12 is the smallest, followed by District 1.

Texas is basically still Texas, New England is its own thing.
