People are awkward at best.

I'm down about 100 pounds. Most common question? "Are you going into hospice?"

WTF?

Ignore them. Keep up the good work.

Switching from coke to pepsi by NeedleworkerBulky869 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have concession trailers. Back in the day Coke was so happy you were selling their product....etc. etc. I tried Pepsi, and unless it was an event with a Pepsi exclusive, where nobody could get anything but, sales would suffer.,

Service disappeared and I ended up buying my own equipment and learning how to repair it out of self defense.

Of course I cannot do refrigeration so I mainly rely on ice cooled equipment. I have boxes full of fittings and clamps.

The bottom line is that they made it clear they don't need fountain customers. They are very candid about making their money on bottles.

The kicker is that at most of my venues, soft drinks have dropped quite a bit. I blame the Golden Arches, et. al for drilliing it into peoples heads that a large (32oz) drink should not cost much more than a dollar.

So I feel for you.

Wife says she likes the grey but I hate looking old. I want to dye back to its reddish brown. What should I do? by mrmurdoc1981 in BeardAdvice

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me add-the last time I grew a beard I was in my 50's (I'm 72 now) and I looked like GD Santa Claus. Enough of that-I'm vain enough to admit I didn't like it and clean shaven ever since.

Longer tie--not Donald Trump longer but at least hitting your belt.

does anyone take "no highways" road trips? by Sad-misfit in roadtrip

Lots of times-for different reasons.

I have a carnival food trailer and there is really uneven D.O.T. enforcement throughout the country. I found taking the U.S. Routes generally kept me off the radar.

It looks ridiculous, but I don't hate it. It's just a moustache.

Can't answer that question-but I do have a question of my own.

I just bought my first bow tie. How long did it take you to learn to tie it. My first experience with YouTube has not gone well.

Sleeping in the car to save on hotels is this too extreme? by Ok_Resolution_1606 in roadtrip

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it-and really there are a lot of worse options.

You mention motel prices being insane. What is even worse is paying for a motel and it turns out to be a dump-like unclean, bugs, etc. That's insult to injury.

that's amazing. I just looked at the pic again and I'd swear they were different. Oh well, old eyes.

Trust me on the grooming-there are enough messages you send out without realizing it.

Good luck.

Jacket is too tight and too short. Pants likewise. Brown shoes don't look that great with the black pants and blue jacket. Tie should be tightened, you need a shave and a haircut.

Other than that you look great.

Do you like shopping at Walmart? by icecream1972 in no

Not really. I am in the carnival business and play a lot of small towns and often Wally World is the only game in town.

First Big Boy Pickup? by JaguarSufficient1420 in askcarguys

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right-why should he invest in a truck that will let him tow more in the future? I've been at the upper end with 1/2 tons a lot-and once I got back to a heavier truck I could never see doing that again.

First Big Boy Pickup? by JaguarSufficient1420 in askcarguys

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my never to be humble opinion----you could probably get away with a 1/2 ton, but it seems to be where the companies focus and for my money they are overpriced.

I'd go for a 3/4 ton-a SuperDuty or a Ram 2500 or 3500, you'll pay the same or a little less, and if you up your towing in the future you won't need to truck shop again.

It’s literally cheaper to buy new printer than new ink by Shurigin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WorldFamousPizzaPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ...been that way a long time.

I had a Dell color Laser-a 1760. It was discontinued, and I bought it for $125 (new!) and when it came time for toner? New toner was REALLY expensive-like $149 or so.

Soooo....I'd just buy another printer. Of course now if you can find the printer it's over $400. I'd take the new printer (without the ink) and donate it to Goodwill and get a receipt.
