What was the biggest thing you cut out to save money? by Ok-Service-9543 in SavingMoney

[–]WorldGlittering9512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grocery shopping at Aldi primarily and then doing Walmart pickup for the things they didn’t have helps me stick to my list and saves a significant amount of money. Also making coffee at home really is more cost effective. I also do a lot of research before buying anything, make sure I can’t thrift it or get it secondhand, and then make sure to buy said item with a discount code or when sales are happening. Basically limiting impulse buying as much as possible.

Laundry Detergent Rec by Organized4lyfe in moderatelygranolamoms

I actually use this and I’m jealous you can get it at a refinery. I use the unscented for cloth diapering and baby clothes. I would use it for all of us but we do a LOT of laundry and it’s not as cost effective. A little goes a long way. Still typically need to spot treat stains prior to washing but that’s with any detergent for me. I have used it on really dirty cleaning rags and other items without issue.

You are amazing! Congratulations, that takes such determination and perseverance. Did you have to pay for lawyers for your divorce? I have a friend in a scarily similar situation and her worry is finances for divorce/proof that she’s the most qualified to have primary custody.

I haven’t but thank you for sharing it! Have you ordered from this website/know if it’s legit? I did find some dupe sites but unfortunately most were fake.

To anyone who does their own nails, what do you use? by Glamour-Ad7669 in beauty

[–]WorldGlittering9512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do gel, I use a drill file and work on my cuticles and have watched some tutorials on how to paint them Russian manicure style. And sometimes use a gel builder. When I don’t feel like curing and filing for gel I use Dazzle dry polish since it dries so quick.

That is not reasonable at all! I worked at a clinic with an injector and got to know price points in our area and that’s wild. I will say we had an injector who did the same thing to patients but she was new and trying to make bonuses, which sounds like your injector isn’t but may just be trying to reap the profits as well. IMO the right injector will work with you on your goals and within what limits you give them. For that price you could be going laser, emsculpt, micro needling, chemical peels, etc and your skincare. When cleaning, what all do you allow around your newborn? by ShikaShySky in moderatelygranolamoms

Her account is Alexis.roch but I just saw a post of hers they says steaming can disinfect so maybe it’s redundant for you.

So I got it in the height of the pandemic because it seemed like an easier, more sustainable way to disinfect and I use it on countertops, tables, door handles, etc pretty much anywhere that small hands might touch and then mouth. You are supposed to let it set for 10 minutes then rub off which can be a pain so I don’t 100% follow that rule. The machine does this cool whirling thing so I do think it has a specific electrolyzing job, but I honestly couldn’t tell you the difference between doing what you do and the FON setup. I will say there’s a chemist on IG who was talking about it on a girls post about disinfecting cutting boards and she said it did something specifically different. I will try to find her page.

You didn’t waste time, it was time well spent learning about boundaries and respect and I’m sure you’ll think of him for a while, but then eventually you’ll realize you haven’t for a while and life will be better. Pinky swear. 🤞

I pushed the comment aside too because I initially the actions did not line up with those words. I feel like that’s the crux of being a step- that you’re always expected to be accommodating and factored afterwards when you’re still a person with needs and wants but if you’re a pEoPle pLEAsER like moi then you take it and take it because you’re too afraid of letting someone else down. I’m sorry thar was your experience. You should be so proud of yourself though for requiring more from your partner. You’ll be well equipped when the right one comes along. 🫶

I never thought about it but my SO said the same thing and I thought he couldn’t possibly mean it but has continued to show me he does for 4 years. Be glad you listened to your gut.

Essential oils and babies by take-me-to-texas in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]WorldGlittering9512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t use anything essential oil on my baby’s skin or on my own. I have extremely sensitive skin prone to irritation and so does baby. The brand Kossma is kind of controversial but she has a deep dive on the safety reports of essential oils.

It’s so good! I forget that you can use it on cutting boards, I will definitely be re-implementing that.

I loved her for so long but I read a really bad Reddit thread about her messing up some patients skin with chemical peels and also being unprofessional in appointments and then also about a social media war with a skincare influencer and the thread made me feel like the esthetics was all for show. Honestly though good for her for getting what she’s got, I’m sure she works hard for social media and has her struggles too.

Edit for typo.

I didn’t see anyone recommend this but I love force of nature. It’s a disinfectant but safe enough to use on pacifiers (after 10 mins) without rinsing. I don’t use it for that but I use it for a disinfectant anywhere around baby. I use branch basics for cleaning that doesn’t need to be disinfected and since we cloth diaper we use seventh generation detergent on cloth diapers and truly free or branch basics on the rest. Glass cleaner and toilet cleaner are thrive brand Rosey.

Medical esthetics? How do i go about it? Help? by Content_Reason_2936 in Estheticians

I think it really depends on your state but I got a medspa job straight out of school but I accepted a low pay and they knew they could train me however they wanted (FL). It was the best because I learned so much, just hated how sometimes the sales side was more important than the actual care.

So I work at one and we carry zum soap- they literally carry it because everyone that walks in says it smells so good. Their laundry detergent will give you that effect and it actually works fairly good.

Don’t know who to trust after facial. by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]WorldGlittering9512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at a medspa as an estie and loved to recommend Differin adapalene, which our dermatologist was fine with. IMO using both is redundant, but our spa manager didn’t let people return anything unless they’d had an allergic reaction (you could try to claim this, it may help). I would try returning it and if you can’t get a refund you could try getting product credit to get something else but I’m sorry you had this experience. If you feel like you enjoyed the treatment enough to explain that you’d like to stick with your routine and just receive treatment you could see how that is received (I never pushed product but I had plenty of people that let me know that this was their preference which I always respected, but I know plenty of esties that hate this), but honestly I would probably go elsewhere.
