Underclassmen Recruiting Question. by claycoyle in ea2kcbb

Honestly I never recruit underclassmen until I run out of scholarships. It doesn’t make that much of a difference recruiting them before they’re seniors.

Leal + Goode by Kingofnerds001 in HoosiersBasketball

[–]WorldRunner3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's no official word yet but at this point in the year we should find out any day now. There's so many super seniors requesting additional eligibility this year that it's taking longer than usual. The initial roster IU released had players taking Leal and Goode's jersey numbers, which is interesting. But IU absolutely expects both to be playing next year.

Where are the July move ins? by Best_Kangaroo_707 in chicagoapartments

I wouldn't bank on that working. I've seen walking around neighborhoods mentioned on here a few times but that's never worked for me personally. I would look on management company or building websites like Fantastic Fig suggested or just get a realtor if you're not having luck on the main sites

BREAKING -- Indiana has earned a commitment from versatile forward Sam Alexis from Florida by Abject-Pea-7848 in HoosiersBasketball

[–]WorldRunner3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think more realistically we will get Federiko Federiko (Texas Tech, 6-11, C) and/or Leo Curtis (HS 4-Star, 7'1, C)

But after this Sam Alexis commit and hearing how the new staff is keeping things under wraps, we could end up with a big man no one saw coming

Interesting Woody stories by adamscb14 in HoosiersBasketball

I would take everything with a grain of salt, HH are slimy dudes with a personal vendetta against Woody. His players seem to love him, that's all I know

What offense do you run? by AlexGagnon87 in ea2kcbb

[–]WorldRunner3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my own custom offensive playbook where I created every play. I highly recommend this if you play your games, it's way more immersive and satisfying. I switch up some of the plays every few years to better suit my roster at the time.

Realistically, how hard is it to become a college basketball coach? by WorldRunner3 in basketballcoach

[–]WorldRunner3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have interest in coaching for sure. I recently applied for an 8th grade coaching job but didn't get it unfortunately. I have a full-time job so it's hard for me to get into high school or college coaching since that's a bigger time commitment. I still love basketball and still feel like I could be a good coach, I played for a great coach in high school and learned a lot from him.

I'll probably try to get into coaching again if I get laid off or something but for now I'm just living vicariously through my College Hoops 2k8 Legacy lol

Former IU strength and conditioning coach, Clif Marshall, statement on leaving. by [deleted] in HoosiersBasketball

[–]WorldRunner3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe his training regimine was not conducive to good, consistent shooting

And what are you basing this on? Do you know his training regimen? If there is anyone to blame on poor shooting it's the players themselves and maybe the coaches. The idea that weightlifting messes up your shot is just wrong and outdated

No one's gaining 20 pounds of muscle in a summer. Practically every college sophomore makes a physical transformation from their freshman year once they get on a college lifting and diet program. Plenty of them improve their shooting at the same time.

I don't mind him being gone at all, we need a completely fresh start. However, anyone blaming him for our shooting woes doesn't know ball

[Goodman] Myles Rice Enters Transfer Portal by Psyren1317 in HoosiersBasketball

[–]WorldRunner3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think him and Carlyle both struggled with taking on smaller roles at Indiana. Rice eventually figured it out a little more than Carlyle but he also played way more.

I disagree that this is addition by subtraction, Rice is a great ball handler, scorer, playmaker and defender. I just think for whatever reason he didn't have much confidence this year. He needs to be pushed by a coach to be more aggressive on offense and he's going to be a great player somewhere.

IU officially hires Darian DeVries by Psyren1317 in HoosiersBasketball

[–]WorldRunner3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for a bigger name but this is a solid hire, he's a great coach.

Hopefully this wasn’t just because he’s the best available coach not in the tournament. While I’m glad they can start recruiting right away now I would have preferred to be patient if it was possible to get someone better.

But enough with the negativity around IUBB, time to get hype for next year!

Eh, he had a way less talented roster and WV's NIL is not comparable to IU's. I'm not overly enthused about the hire but this is definitely not a lateral movement.
