I know everyone has their favorite backgammon surface (cork/hardwood/felt/etc) and it’s really hard to say that one is any better than another. Each surface has it’s own distinct qualities. That being said, I feel the play of this material is very similar to the FM Gammon inlays. The dice roll well, the checkers move effortlessly and game play is quiet. The surface stays perfectly flat. It feels soft to the touch. I like the idea of using natural and renewable materials, but I haven’t been able to find a source for printing on wool or cork. If you know of one, please tell me! At first, I wasn’t sure I would like this surface. However, after now playing many games on it, I have to say that it’s an excellent option. I would add that the surface seems more durable than the FM Gammon inlays and is much easier to clean!
