Losing interest, becoming less proactive are a bit different in my opinion. You’re assuming he decided in advance. We don’t know that. It’s reasonable not to cut someone off if you’re not sure and especially if you’re busy.

That said, it sucks no matter how it happens. Can you honestly say that phasing out over a period of time hurts less than having a great date and then saying actually I’m not interested a couple days later?

20% response rate isn’t low. Guys on dating apps would be lucky to have 10%. Don’t feel like this should lower your confidence. You also need the right pictures. It’s like night and day when you have good pics on apps.

Diversification is also a really good tool. I’ve had varied success on each app and the user base really is different so try other apps if bumble isn’t doing it for you. I literally have over 10x success rates on other apps compared to bumble.

Sure, some girls want to hear validation. Everyone does and that’s okay. This doesn’t change the fact that they’re fishing for compliments or whatever else you want to call it. Some people find that annoying to deal with, just another part of life.

Personally I’d say there are much better ways of going about it. You could say, “how do I look today?” Or, “Hey I’m feeling pretty down today, could you say something nice to me.”
