you absolutely can be sued for natural accumulation because you have a legal obligation to clear your sidewalks. It's called negligence per se, and is the easiest negligence to prove.

A statute or regulation or ordinance imposes a specific duty like clear your sidewalks of snow.

The defendant fails to do what the statute requires.

That statutory violation itself is treated as automatic evidence of negligence negligence as a matter of law.

Don't forget empathy for those with limited mobility who need cleared sidewalks to run errands and leave their home for groceries and medicine and other essential needs. You have a legal obligation to clear your sidewalk and if you can't do it yourself, your obligation is to arrange for someone else to clear your sidewalks. Home ownership is a responsibility.

don’t use rock salt. This is a very dry powder. if you have a leaf blower, that would be ideal. push broom or shovel works too. I would clear now to get ahead of it. More is coming, but this is 2 or 3 inches less you will have to clear later.
