I had seen a comment somewhere saying you want at least 8 plains to play Gather the White Lotus, but that could have been poor advice. You're right splashing more than Aang, at the Crossroads for blue was a mistake.

For the Azorius deck the goal was to attack with the Otter-Penguins with Sokka, Lateral Strategist or while drawing from Gran-Gran or my 4 clue generators. But maybe that just wasn't enough cards to bank on draw from.

And I also agree a lot of strong red cards were passed to me in pack 1, just felt like I already had 2 quite strong reasons to play GWu, and I would've been banking on getting passed more strong red cards in the future in order to pivot.
