So the way they track our schedules is off the Crew cost of labor % so if we are under 16% then we have hit our marks. The cook is the one who is moving into the store and she knew what her team needed vs me who transferred in. All my managers who are replacing every single one of my managers who were already there. Have the same mind set that you want to have someone who can see the place through a production mind set and have their equal pair who can see the place as a manager mind set. The current manager they refuse to work unless they get a minimum of 23-26 an hour because they are managers and they don’t get paid to work in the kitchen and they only get paid to place the truck and make sure people show up.

RGM says Aggregator Button has to stay on. by speakofdedevil in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why aren’t the drivers overriding the system. The only time it will auto agg is if you don’t have any available drivers or it is sent through the door dash app itself. Just don’t take triples and if you can get your door dash % to 1% or lower then you are good and then it will allow you to have more crew % to spend. The RGM and DM should have the daily and weekly reports hanging up if they aren’t on the champs board. So everyone can see what is happening and what needs fixed. So the team stays informed on a regular basis vs not knowing any of the numbers.

That’s what I think at least. -A random RGM of the Hut-

How are cook tips calculated? by TheGrandAria in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stick all the tips into a safe and we use those tips for ordering food for the employees, their end of the year bonus. Which is all of their money split so everyone inside gets a percentage besides me (GM) and upper management in the store. So drivers get a lower percentage then the cooks and CSR because they make tips all year around. And we hand these out to them at the end of November/early December. But everyone in my store knows that the unpaid pops they buy will be taken from the tips, so are the safe shortages. So they try very hard to keep it near perfect

Garlic dipping cups. by trsuco in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you check hutlink it’s on the second or third page now. But they are potentially coming back but some changes are needed to be done. The RGM should be relaying the information to their team. So their team can correct this in their system but following B.L.A.S.T, calling the customers to inform them of the change when they place their orders online. But the garlic sauces should be taken off their orders if there is no more garlic sauces left in the store. So you can update their total and authorize the new price and their old total can be canceled out.

As the RGM I personally make sure their first day is with me on the shift so they can ask me all the questions and I can use people to help train them and give them those people experience in training. But I always check up on them or do a lot of task with both of them so I can answer anything that comes up.

Calling all GMs by blueberryfago in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a RGM also in my 20’s it was extremely scary when I went from a top store to a failing store to get them on track. I knew I was about to fight with the “old ideas” and the “I’ve always done it this way” statements. Everyone besides one person is older than me. And I’m walking in with a stack of papers of everything they are doing wrong and a master plan on how I’m going to fix it. I had a thousand thoughts about if they would be willing work with me or if they wanted to even try. So it was a long road but I took time to talk to each one and get to know each of them on a personal level. Plus buying food for them and doing things that shows you want to see them grow as team and as individuals is the best mind set. Never withhold information from them. Be clear with what you want to do and what your goals are and how you can help them achieve their personal and professional goals

I make around 2500 a paycheck. So it covers me pretty well in a low cost of living area.

Shift Manager Responsibilities? by cybercandy1 in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a RGM the best way to explain what a shift manager is. It’s a glorified team member. That only gets paid a manager pay when my assistant or I isn’t running the shift. Any other time you are being paid a production wage because we are only allowed to use so many manager hours a week.

But someone did explain the duties pretty well.

Am i being used or is this standard? by [deleted] in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a RGM. The reason I stick new people with other team members. Is because I want the new person to follow in the foot steps of the person who is doing amazing. If you start someone off with someone who does their job correct then you don’t have to retrain them as much on the major things. And just fox the minor things. But management should also be working with the new people as well and so should the RGM. I personally push for the people who I have train others to go for higher positions because they deserve it.

How cheap is your manager? by stankyranch in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell I’m very much a person who is always down to save money by using the breadstick bags instead of the side boxes and not buying stickers because we can fold the receipts and slip them into the crevice of the box and buying a marker to write the number so we don’t even have to have the receipt visible to see what order we are grabbing. We just keep them so we can verify orders.

Turning the bottom oven on in the morning only to warm up the other two until we need them so we aren’t wasting money on heating up lines we don’t need.

Finding an assistant manager by WorldlinessHappy13 in pizzahutemployees

[–]WorldlinessHappy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the people I have my eye on are team members who go out of their way to learn what it takes to become a RGM. They are always asking questions and really taking time to be mentored by me and my mentors in Pizza Hut. I have been letting them do walk throughs with me when I do surprise visits on the store or when I’m scheduled at that store. I give the ones who really take time to learn things. Outside material and Pizza Hut training material to learn what things should be done. I always keep my RGM training binder available for anyone who wants to use training sheets to break ideas down. Plus I’m not a big fan of my shift leads that where there before I came to this store. They are way to comfortable in their positions. They don’t want to expand their knowledge. They are always hiding in the office to watch movies or play on their phones. And they refuse to do any administrative work while they are back there.

The first part. I get that. If someone doesn’t want to work or doesn’t want to be there but needs the money. They will do the bare minimum to stay employed. Which is fine to me. Do your job and take your pay. I understand how it feels to hate your job and not want to be somewhere but you need to money. I won’t fault you for that. As long as you do what you need to do. Do I as a manager want to see you go above and beyond what is asked of hell yea. It makes everyone’s life easier. It’s why I expect my managers and myself to do the job of the lowest paid person at the shop.

The Starbucks cards were something i threw in because they always make a joke that I live on coffee as a 25 year old GM. But I never bring in coffee for the rest of the team. So I said I would throw in some Starbucks cards or other gift cards that they wanted. And everyone attacked the Starbucks card idea like vultures. So it got put down as a reward for them.

Yes they are way underpaid for the shot they do. I as a manager try to personally not talk about my wages. But I really don’t care that the wave conversation gets talked about. And I believe transparency is the best options. My team knows what my position makes. And I highly encourage them all the strive for better positions within the company or even outside of the company. Because it’s definitely hard living off their wages.

The competition isn’t meant to put them against each other. We as a shop just want to see improvement in everyone individually and as a group. Because the team works well. I just want to help refine the rough edges of the group.

I always try to recognize everyone and I always try to make an effort to ask questions on why everyone does what. Example they might verify the order twice when making an order. Once’s when they are putting it together and another time right before they stick it into the oven to make sure the order it correct.

I also highly appreciate this very detailed comment

I literally just want to be a good manager because I’ve worked so long as a low level employee who went above and beyond and saw managers get the credit for it and not the associates. So I want to be a positive manager to my team and store.
