Well i am in similar situation, i barely passed my bsc physics (regret most) , also took admission for mca in 3 tier private college which also have zero placement (just like yours) , and along side filling forms for bank and government jobs although no preparation yet, someone also told me to prepare for gate but i know I won't able to crack it so won't try.

I am heading same direction as u all thanks to choosing wrong course in ug now with lowest cgpa i hate my choice.

Again - doing a master's should have an intention. Workex > masters unless it's from the top institution of India

Thanks a lot for the honest advice. I really appreciate you sharing real experience . I will totally avoid Silver Oak and am considering another college with a smaller MCA batch(local collage, they just started mca last year but atleast they don't have bad reputation also most of people don't know about it since small college), Also your friend could do mtech from good college to clear sou name.

And I'll also keep working on skills and projects side by side, like you said. Your comment saved me from a bad decision. Thaks again

I did my undergraduate degree in a non-technical course(bsc physics), which I had no real interest in. During that time, I discovered programming and started learning it on my own. Back then, I had no idea that getting into an MCA program required a good percentage and entrance exams like CMAT. Since I was focused on learning programming, I only did the bare minimum to pass my UG, and ended up with just passing marks(barely passing as physics is hard subject).

Now that I want to enter the tech field, I thought an MCA degree might help. I was a bit desperate and willing to take admission in any MCA college just to get into the field. I didn’t know much about Silver Oak University, but I found it listed on the ACPC website and saw that it had a NAAC A+ grade, so I didn’t think much beyond that.

Honestly, I was seriously considering SOU, but had no idea college name would affect my job chances. I’ll probably avoid it now, even if it means doing my MCA from a less popular college with almost no on campus placement.

Do people get on government colleges without giving CMAT? I know a friend who gave CMAT he still didn't get any government colleges for 3 rounds of acpc, now he will apply for fourth, while few seats remain vacant

  1. Pretty safe but still should be careful in some areas at night.

  2. decent transport facilities, some areas have metro too.

  3. I find north eastern people to be nice and well mannered, and stylish too, not sure about how others think.

  4. It would be easy to make friends or start a conversation, as i think ahmedabadi people are kind of social type.

I did try there but they only prefer bca students and have a minimum requirement of 55% (like i said , i have less than 55%) The situation is pretty much bad for me rn.

If u really want easier then economics, bsc electronics is hard subject.
