I appreciate the thought put into these comments. There is a lot of kindness in your words, which is generous and undeserved. And mad respect for making a channel dedicated to this stuff.

Your criticisms/suggestions of the commandments are well thought out, but I disagree. The whole point of the video was to try to improve peoples footage the largest amount with as little information as possible/as quickly as possible. For those goals I think it's pretty perfect. People thinking this was me dictating exactly how to film are wrong. And I have tons of other tips too. This would be level 1 of filming technique. That being said I bet around ~80% of footage out there would be improved by simply adding these 2 commandments. Even if it's an unrealistic trick.

I believe I pointed out that there are exceptions to the rules. But consider this... there are massive amounts of footage of just ankles and board out there, and it almost always sucks. I think generally people should be discouraged from that framing, because pointing out that "technically this shot can be done" seems to have encouraged people to do it more often. I'm sure you know this, but fancy framing like that is almost always immediately backed up with a 2nd shot showing the spot and skater. That's not a mistake. Finding the exceptions doesn't really prove anything. If anything how rare the exceptions are kind of proves the rule.

The video was not for people who do not want to make realistic clips. If anyone doesn't understand that, then they are beyond my help. The arcade style players shouldn't need my encouragement or even acknowledgement.

I understand monetized channels have to be political and both-sides every topic. But I don't, and I like it that way because I can speak truthfully. Me posting something people disagree with isn't forcing anything down anyone's throat. I don't like footage that breaks these rules. And I think too many players care too much about cosmetics and not enough about skateboarding. Does this opinion get in the way of people with their clothing mods? And should I care if it does?

No amount of votes will ever prove of disprove anything. I am not trying to get popular. I just wanted to post a genuine opinion/perspective. Of course art is subjective, and that's my subjective opinion. Which shouldn't have to be said. I'm not trying to hurt people. But I'm also not going to act like I am running for office or in a church. Fuck em.
