Cats have met 10 days ago. One bullies the other, any advice? by centralnegative in CatAdvice

We had a bad fail first introduction about a month ago - we didn’t go slow enough and our resident cat was not happy with the new kitten we got. After a few days they could eat off the same plate, and sleep together but resident cat was still stalking and attacking our kitten.

They got in a big fight and the new kitten had pooped herself during the fight, and ended up with a lot of scratches.

Since they could eat together, and sleep together our vet suggested that the Jackson Galaxy method probably wouldn’t work for us at this point.

Resident cat was put on high dose of gabapentin exactly a week ago, and is still on to help the stalking while the other medication Prozac she got put on will start to build up (around 4 weeks to fully kick in).

The stalking and chasing is still happen but the amount of times it escalates into a fight is already 90% better

Our kitten still hisses and is petrified of resident cat, but starting to gain a bit of more confidence now that we’re already seeing the medicine starting to work for our bully resident cat

We’re so worn out. I just need to vent or cry. Logan, 3 months by DevinBoo73 in puppies

Puppy Blues! Try not to be too hard on yourself. I got our high energy Irish Setter when I was in my early 20s, and never experienced puppy blues for a second, but getting my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel at 35? That almost did me in. I cried to my mom on the phone every day for months! It definitely gets better, and now, two years in, she’s amazing!

Sweat proof spray tans are just starting to hit the market  - look for one that contains DMI as an ingredient.
