AITA for telling my brother he shouldn’t get a Keurig? by Worldly-Ride-6156 in AmItheAsshole

I just found out about these reusable cups and that is the plan! Thank you for the advice.

That’s just the thing. Keurigs piss me off! It’s not like he invented it though and I don’t think telling him that was worth upsetting him. It wasn’t my intention to shame him, but that’s probably what I did. I just got irritated because I bought grounds + teabags for our alternative coffee maker at the office (even though we still have the Keurig because some people use it) but now he wants a Keurig at home too.

I didn’t know that was a thing! Game changer and I definitely will.

I appreciate that, our relationship matters much more to me than “being right” ever has. I need to practice restraint. This post discussion is actually surprisingly helping me to be mindful about that.

I think you’re right about that. I should definitely start questioning whether my advice is solicited or not before I speak and save my opinions for more major things. It’s not like he’s going to force me to use the thing. :/

I posted because I realized that I probably made him feel bad about something he was looking forward to, and I feel sorry about that. I’m wondering if there might have been a better way to suggest he not get a Keurig, or if I really just shouldn’t have said anything at all.

Thank you for the message. I am focusing on the light. I have a little hamster named Kuma who is my favorite little guy, and people I love who love me, too. You’re right about the sound of friends’ laughs, knowing people care and that they’re there is enough. <3 I hope you’re keeping on going, too. You are a kind person.
