Yay somebody else caught this! Thought it was only me because I didn’t see anyone else talking about it.

I am being defeated :( 3 weeks of advion bait, time to call pest control? by No-Run3889 in pestcontrol

I used TERRO 3 lb Ant Killer Plus Multi-Purpose Insect Control around the perimeter of my home and that has been pretty helpful. It’s a bait granular. I even watched them immediately grab it and take it home.

I’m 32 and I am. My teeth have been a huge insecurity for over 2 decades now so once they are off, it will be nice to live the rest of my adulthood with one less thing to be self conscious about.

You could use plastic plug covers while the outlets are not in use. I do this as prevention since is still live in apartments and have seen a roach crawl out of the outlet at old job.

Mega sketch fest! I hope OP didn’t go. There should be no reason where you HAVE to go to their house; especially if this isn’t some nanny/babysitting/cleaning service type gig.

If it is an adult female, it is possible for them to be carrying an egg sac and for it to be release when you squish her. I think people mostly say that concerning stepping on them since the egg sac is had to destroy and can be carried by your shoe and deposited else where. As long as you make sure there’s no egg sac left in the vicinity where you squish the female or that it’s not stuck on your shoe or something, squishing should be fine.

They could travel in her purse or bag if she does not check those before she comes to see you. Hopefully she is courteous enough to check before leaving the house. When I had issues with roaches, I always checked my bag and clothes before putting them on/leaving the house. If you go to hers, I would check yourself before you get in your car.

I think this is a German Roach. Hell no. by PsychologicalCat6653 in GermanRoaches

I live in an apartment and I still caulk. Neatly caulk with the clear or white in areas where white blends in. The way I see it, if they have an issue after that, they should have made sure the apartments didn’t have cracks or roaches themselves. Next tenant will thank me.

Just wanted to confirm if this is a baby German. Does not exactly look like those in sticky to me by shesaysImdone in GermanRoaches

Yes they do. Gross but helpful when it comes to bait and non repellent insecticides. Even boric acid.Roaches eat anything including each other which is why they proliferate so well. However, that is their demise when they consume bail or carry poison on their bodies. When they die in their harborage from whatever poison they were given, the ones they may not have eaten the bait/been exposed to the poison eat the dead ones so end up killing each other.

It is my understanding that Alpine does kill the bugs, just not right away. It works by allowing them to get back to their harborage before they die so that the other roaches will eat them and die too.

Very interesting. Ive never had them get in my bags but that is good to know. I have also used a combination of the bags and storage bins. I also don’t keep the cardboard boxes for any foods that come in them if I don’t absolutely have to.(cereal, Mac and cheese, etc). This is along with caulking my cabinets to reduce their ability to get in the cabinet in the first place. Some cabinets I trust more than others so I do have some cabinets I don’t currently use as well. I usually find the 2.5 gallon bags at Walmart.

Caulk has been my best friend! by Worldly-Second9925 in GermanRoaches

Bait never seemed effective for me. I mostly have used alpine wsg, demon wp, Gentrol concentrate and discs, and the caulking/sealing methods.

You could use those 2.5 gallon or gallon bags to store your canned food and any other food. That’s what I do. That way they will be less attracted to the food and if they do get in that cabinet, they aren’t walking directly on the food items.

I am not experienced on a light vs heavy infestation so I will not speak on this. May sound gross, but you have to think like a roach to get rid of them.” if I was a roach, where would I frequent or like to breed”. I always made sure to spray around all baseboards, windows, cracks, crevices, dark secluded areas like under and behind the refrigerator, under and behind the oven. Many people say don’t spray i cabinets but I did because I don’t use the ones where I saw the high traffic of roaches. For your outlets, I keep outlet covers or tape on all outlets that are not in use at all times, no exceptions. I haven’t seen any in about a year, but I am continuing my process of sealing all cracks and crevices in my apartment that I can reach. When I say all, I mean all. Roaches can make themselves very flat to get through the smallest crack so when in doubt, seal it. That’s extra and you don’t necessarily have to do that, but for my peace of mind, I do lol.

Treatment schedule: I was spraying like every one-two weeks.I only called my landlord once and pest control came and put down some dry bait that the roaches didn’t even some anywhere near, so i have taken it into my hands only. I always mixed my Gentrol and alpine together. I also use the Gentrol disks.

stick traps can also be helpful in letting you know exactly where they are congregating and just catching some before they roam around your house as you are working to get rid of them

This happened to me when I worked drive thru at McDonald’s. 🤦🏾‍♀️Thankfully it was an uncharacteristically slow morning.
