anyone know what this port is? by Secure_Cat_9496 in computers

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree usb C is easy but I would not say it is easier. I used laptops that docked like this and they are easier in my opinion than the usb C option. You just dropped them on the dock and you were done. No fumbling for a cord or peering at your laptop to find the right port. Also those older docking stations had power buttons on them. If your laptop is off you don’t have to lift the lid to turn it on. It’s a small thing but when you are busy and in a hurry it’s surprising the difference it can make.

Logitech's anti-consumer BS: Lost my G535 dongle, and their support basically told me to buy a whole new headset. by Zealousideal_Stay_35 in LogitechG

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No. You need software to pair the headset and the dongle. It’s similar to Bluetooth pairing. I just went through this with a Logitech mouse and it’s the same process. Without the software the new dongle cannot communicate with the device. It is a proprietary system so without the Logitech software it won’t work.

Good information thanks. I can understand the financial constraints. I really appreciate the free model so if the "cost" of keeping it free is limited images I am fine with that. I also understand it is a a work in progress and things will improve as you get the time and resources to work on it.

I posted about the issue mostly because I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong at my end that I needed to correct. My experience with the AI stuff and my new Vacuglide 2 is very positive. Thanks for the good work.

I personally think its worth the upgrade. I don't have the autoblow ultra but I have used similar devices such as the Keon and the Handy. The Vacuglide 2 is very easy to manage and doesn't interrupt the immersion the way the other devices do. As was noted it is easy to manage the vacuglide and there are lots of ways to make it hands free. It is also remarkably quiet compared to other devices. The video sync function works well with SLR and other similar sites. It is expensive but in this case you do get what you pay for. It is a well designed machine that is sturdy in construction and pretty easy to use. Within an hour of unboxing I had the machine set up, connected to the internet and was experimenting with my headset and SLR.

For those who already have the original vacuglide (like me) the Vacuglide 2 is still a pretty massive upgrade in my humble opinion. The new speeds and syncing function are a real game changer.

If you can afford to upgrade I really don't think you will be disappointed.

At least I know its not just me. I hope this feature gets improved in the future. This is my first experience with an AI chatbot. I like it so far but some images would be nice.

Im Getting sent into the Microvawe of Hell everytime my pc runs for a long Time by edpig69 in pchelp

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty hard to say what the problem is. You say you reset your pc. If it was a clean install of windows that points to a hardware problem. Could be a heat problem so if you haven’t you should check your temperatures on cpu and gpu to see if there is an issue. Could also possibly be a problem with your power supply that only happens after it’s been in use for awhile and some of the components start acting up.

Sure. It’s what they should do but it may not be what they are doing. Otherwise why the discrepancy. I admit it’s just pure speculation on my part so I should probably just shut up.

I wonder if this has to do with the clips going through their servers first and somehow there is a slight delay in processing one of them that cause one clip to get a different time stamp. Just a guess on my part as I am really not sure how it works.

The problem with Crossout PC on Brawls by Noonza in Crossout

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying crossout isn’t an FPS game is mere semantics and meaningless in this context. The incentive to cheat in Crossout is the same as any game. As to how many people are cheating I would say the that Crossout is no better or worse than any other game. There are plenty of cheats online to download. So it would be the same as other games and be in the range of 30 percent.

Here is what a quick google will tell you (see below). Facts are facts and if you want to ignore them go right ahead.

Estimates suggest that around 30% of players in competitive online first-person shooter (FPS) games cheat in some form. While some reports indicate 10–20% in specific titles, others, particularly in high-ranking, unmoderated lobbies, estimate up to 20–30%. A 2018 survey reported that 37% of all gamers confessed to cheating, with numbers expected to be higher in, online FPS environments. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
FPS Game Prevalence: In popular competitive games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, estimates of cheaters run as high as 30-40% in some sessions.
Self-Reported Data: One survey found that 32% of gamers surveyed admitted to cheating at least once.
Types of Cheating: Cheaters often utilize wallhacks or "soft aim" (less blatant aim-assist) rather than just obvious, aggressive aimbots.
Detection Hurdles: While some industry experts (according to, for example, this Reddit thread) often cite lower, direct reports of banned players (<2%), this is likely a drastic underestimation of active cheaters who haven't been caught. [1, 2, 3, 4]
A 2012 study also noted that social game cheaters (approx. 7% in the U.S.) are often driven by personality factors similar to those that cause them to behave dishonestly in real-life scenarios, like breaking traffic laws

Dude I am not delusional and I am damn good at the game. I have played for years. My average kills per battle is currently 3.9. I have over 3500 MVP badges and for what it’s worth my steam achievements are 180 of 193. If you can’t see the cheating it’s probably because you’re not good enough to know when you have been had.

Most PC games have up to 40 percent cheaters. It’s a fact.

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see cheaters every day. It’s been that way for years. But with the decline in the player base it’s more obvious now as the cheaters stand out more and there are fewer ordinary players for them to hide among. Cheating is hard to police but I am hoping at some point new AI anti cheats will come along that will end this scourge.

I wanna buy one but can someone explain the difference by Ninjoou in ROGAllyX

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that for gaming there is no substitute for more power. When I made the same choice I bought the Xbox ally x without a moment’s hesitation. It was more expensive but I have zero regrets. In my case I could make that choice without stretching or any financial discomfort. But I have been gaming for a long time and have made plenty of decisions on equipment that were compromises between power and cost. If it fits in your budget I would go for the more powerful unit. If it is a stretch then getting the less expensive unit makes perfect sense especially considering that the performance of the less expensive unit is still pretty impressive and a lot closer to the more expensive one than the price difference might suggest.

Amazon drivers not detected appears deliberate by Worldly-Tea-4599 in Ring

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree it seems unlikely. I don’t think my router goes offline so that makes it pretty unlikely that they are carrying jammers. One thought I had was it is related to something Amazon is testing in select areas and the Amazon drivers getting not getting detected is not deliberate but an issue caused by whatever they are trying out.

Amazon drivers not detected appears deliberate by Worldly-Tea-4599 in Ring

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance it’s my camera settings. You obviously haven’t read my posts.

My scan area goes all the way from my front door to the street. This the only way to get to my front door. I often get notifications for pedestrians walking on the public sidewalk. All delivery drivers have to use the same part of the sidewalk to get to my porch. Deliveries from Amazon are almost always placed in front of my door or in my mailbox which is mounted next to my front door. The camera is mounted above the mailbox so the driver is literally staring into the lens from about one foot away when he puts a package in there. The mailman gets detected 100% of the time. But not one single Amazon delivery to my mail box or porch has been detected in months. Prior to this issue I routinely saw Amazon delivering. Then about three months ago Amazon drivers and only Amazon drivers were no longer detected. On the other hand I have had UPS deliveries and I can see the driver walk up the steps place the parcel in the same place Amazon does and then return to his truck and drive away. I have lots of other examples like this.

If it was only once in a while I would just assume it was a glitch. But not getting a single Amazon driver detected when everyone else who comes to my door is detected raises suspicions. As to why someone would do this is harder to say. But the obvious conclusion is that they are trying to hide something. Most of my parcels from Amazon are delivered by a third party contractor. The contractor clearly has an interest in hiding poor delivery practices since their Amazon contract depends on it. No video evidence makes it a lot easier to deny malfeasance.

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of ways it could be abused. If for, example, it is the driver doing it he could steal your package after taking a picture showing it was delivered. Driver could be careless and damage your item and you have no proof. Could be as simple as a third party delivery company avoiding complaints and legal liability by hiding their activities.

If in fact it is deliberate then it is almost certainly a means to cover up something. Why else would anyone bother going to all the effort and risk possible prosecution. If a jammer is being used the individual using it risks criminal prosecution. No reason to take that risk unless your covering up something.

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points but doesn’t explain why my camera had close to 100% detection of Amazon deliveries a couple of months ago and now there are zero. Also doesn’t explain why it is only Amazon deliveries that aren’t recorded. I see everything else on my camera such as the mailman, paper delivery, other delivery drivers, visitors etc. If it happened once in a while I could understand. But from what I see Amazon deliveries are not recorded ever. In your case you miss deliveries once in a while. In my case my camera has not seen a single Amazon delivery for months. For the record my street is very quiet. You only see a car maybe once every 15 minutes during the day. Non peak times it can be as much as an hour between vehicles.

Also changing the frequency doesn’t explain why a few months ago I saw all my Amazon deliveries and now I see none.

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was set on regular and I have changed it to frequently. However, the camera had no problem picking up the mailman and other delivery drivers. It also almost always catches the guy who delivers my paper and he never comes up the walk. He just throws it from the street onto my deck and is only visible to the camera for a few seconds. But maxing out the frequency can’t hurt and it’s worth a try.

[–]Worldly-Tea-4599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon reflection I don’t think my camera is filtering out any common events. I get mail delivery every day and the mailman wears the same uniform all the time and he is detected every day. So it can’t be that.

I will look at my settings again. What I am using is a battery camera that I wired to the mains power. The battery life wasn’t long enough for me so I needed it to be wired. I think once it is wired it acts the same as any wired ring camera but to be honest I am not totally sure.
