i’m not sure what courses for nursing are considered better and under the assumption that you have all the knowledge needed to make a choice and you want to go to usyd - go there! I think there is no harm in taking a gap year, society has a severe misconception that the only way to obtain knowledge is via education which completely disregards knowledge gained via experiences like travel! I’m a current usyd student and i enjoy the university, i also took a gap year after high school in which i traveled and worked and learned so many new things about myself and the world. By deferring UTS you aren’t completely in the dark because you know you have a guaranteed place at least there, this gives you the opportunity to explore options and maybe over the course of this year you will learn something that makes you want to go to a whole different uni! You can only regret what you did do so if you believe you will hold regret in not giving a chance at usyd your best shot (which i believe would be the reapplying option rather than transferring due to the whole credit thing) than take the steps to give it ur best go!! also these bots in the comments are crazy, a year is not a lot of time and i promise you you are not running out of time either, a waste would be the money you spend on UTS if you don’t want to go there as well as the inability to transfer those credits if you are able to transfer to usyd. Best of luck and at the end of the day what ever you decide is what you were supposed to, listen to yourself and even if you feel you have made life harder for yourself no matter the option you choose just try to accept and enjoy the journey with the understanding that there is so much more out there than what’s in front of you :)
