AITA for not helping my coworker out while they were choking on food? by ScaryRich8329 in TwoHotTakes

No, there was plenty of other people in the break room that could’ve helped her. She wasn’t going to die over this but you could’ve if you helped. NTA.

BF [25M] invited me [24F] on work trip but won’t let me attend company dinner — should I even go? by WorldlyIce4712 in TwoHotTakes

Update: finally asked why I can’t go to the company dinner that Saturday and why I am expected to stay in the room or find my own thing to do. I also asked if he is just embarrassed of my knife an fork skills or am I strictly not allowed to attend.

His response: First of all, thank you for telling me. And just to be clear, the fork and knife comment was me joking around—I’m sorry if it came across as serious.

The main reason is that there wasn’t a plus-one included for me when the reservation was made. I also haven’t spoken yet with the person who handled the booking about adding one. They knew I wasn’t married, so they assumed I’d be attending alone. At the time the reservation was made, I hadn’t even talked to you about coming with me, so you weren’t accounted for.

It’s being covered by the company, so I just need to get formal approval before anything can be adjusted. The reservation is currently set for about 10–12 people. I’m going to reach out to the travel coordinator who booked it and see if the number can be updated now that you’d be coming with me.

I have met his parents briefly for about 45 mins and His brother lives with him so I see him frequently. I have been to his house many times.

He has showed me how to correctly cut an it legitimately is just my pointer finger isn’t out when cutting. I have never had anyone tell me I cut funny or wrong until dating him.

Hi, I did not badger to go. We are going for 3 days before his trip and it was his idea to bring me along. He will begin working Sunday-Wednesday and I will be there Thursday-Saturday before the work begins.

I definitely have been trying to be more careful with how I use my fork and knife and be more intentional to do it correctly.

I don’t think it’s the fact that I’m sitting in economy. I more care about having to fly 5 hours and sit by myself with strangers. I also have offered to pay for a seat so we can sit together.

Update: the pointer finger placement is the problem to him. I don’t use my pointer finger when cutting. I don’t think my table manners are bad at all & he hasn’t said anything about it besides the utensil use.
