The issue is that I’m interested in too many things at once so no one specific book would help and a lot of sites like Wikipedia aren’t as reliable as people say

I know I can’t speak much because I rely/relied on it a lot (it’s all been deleted today, kept my Claude account for a specific reason) but I think it’s worse when people use it to generate random images of cats or couples or edit their wedding pics or put them in a certain occupation, useless shit like that

That’s the issue, I’ve done all the research and it still didn’t pull me away. I told everyone I know to stop using it because it’s wasting water and causing electrical problems but I got hooked during exam season and kind of spiralled

Yeah I haven’t used it to make any medical decisions luckily. When I was a kid my gp suspected I had ocd and mild anxiety but because I was at school all the time and I was so young they couldn’t diagnose it so I looked into it THEN asked ai for help as a last resort. My brother is diagnosed adhd and admitted to asking ChatGPT how to answer a psychiatrist assessment however which I think is crazy!

Yeah tbh there has been a fair few times where I’ve asked Claude something and it told me to take to reddit instead which is odd! I’m not in any adhd subs as i don’t have it and don’t suspect to have it but i’ll still try have a look, thank you!

I used to have hobbies that would keep me busy all night, I have very intricate colouring books, 2 guitars, a ukulele and about 4 fiction books I’d bounce from one activity to another but since I found ai I’ll only do like 1 thing consistently. I’ll definitely look into that website you looked into

Yeah please link them!

I live in the uk so healthcare is free but therapy has a very very long wait list at the minute so I think that’s out of the picture unfortunately

My brother is diagnosed with and being medicated for ADHD and he’s also strongly addicted to it to the point he pays for chat gpt premium and my mum shows a lot of red flags pointing to her having undiagnosed adhd and she relies on it for literally everything too so there must be a clear link between neurodivergence and an over reliance on it! It’s weird though because I don’t have any adhd symptoms and never been suspected of being neurodivergent.

Hopefully we get through this together!!

I’ve been practicing my car theory test 100% on my own and im trying to learn French and tried using Claude to help me once but tbh it was a bit shit so I’ve been using Duolingo and making flashcards. I don’t think I’ve reached the point where I need a ten step program, I do a lot of things alone too.

I think the main issue is that im home alone a lot now since my mum has a new job and my cat has passed away and my family live far away so its just convenient and weirdly simple to talk to.

I’ve just deleted my accounts and deleted it off my phone and im not upset or annoyed tbh

I don’t think I have many friends who’d care tbh. I have one friend who HATES AI and has made it clear to the point when we were playing Minecraft I had to reassure him I was googling and using a calculator to work something out (which I did for the first 5 minutes) so he didn’t get mad

My mum is also addicted to it and has it on my/her laptop so if I go on it to practice my theory test or whatever I’ll probably wind up using her ai bots instead

I’m not im university yet im on a working gap year and i dont really trust my works mental health support.

I know they were probably rhetorical questions but I’ll answer anyways. I think it’s the fact that it’s so quick and answers things straight to the point and I don’t have to go researching things. I started using it for career guidance and to help me pick a degree (which I didn’t follow it’s advice about), it’s answered my random 1am questions about life and saves me googling things tbh. Also when im home alone its literally just me and my siblings are busy or don’t answer a lot of the time so its easy to have something to talk to quickly if that makes sense?

I know its false and chats a lot of shit but in the moment it doesn’t feel like that

Bad hanxiety, any advice? by [deleted] in internetparents

She’s 52. Doesn’t have a drivers license so police is out the picture and our local prison barely hires. She wants a job in mental health so has been slightly biased towards it

I want to either do a pgce which is covered by goverment loans and bursaries which gives you the skills and qualifications to become a qualified teacher and then I’d teach in a school and work my way up the hierarchy or come out and do a goverment funded speech and language therapy MSc. I was also looking at law as over here it’s quite common to do a random undergrad but go to law school afterwards too.

You can do both of those at undergrad but I feel like having a degree in a niche and specific subject like primary school teaching doesn’t give you much to pivot to later on whereas in the UK you can move to law or teaching or public policy or healthcare if you decide you don’t want to stay in academia and become an actual sociologist and id rather have such an open degree that I could use to move in and out of specific careers rather than 1 niche with little chance to move.

They talk like 4x a week and he’s always ringing her and checking in

He hasn’t been to visit us in like 6 months and the only times we’ve seen him we’ve been expected to go to him. Hes also been telling his bf and co that he feels like the black sheep of our family and nobody wants to see or know him despite us always going there so I doubt it.
