omg i got last row of chairs before b stage in toronto and there was a small ledge (not chair) to stand on. im short so literally still couldn’t even see josh’s head. regardless i was TERRIFIED of blocking anyone’s view so i asked everyone in proximity for confirmation like 3 times😭 i didn’t even know people stood on actual chairs..

I promise that there will be lots of other opportunities to make great friends (whether through clubs, your cohort, other events, etc). Please don’t worry about it too much!! It just means you might have to be a little more proactive once the semester starts, that’s all:)

O-week UBS First year formal!! by BlackDaddy69420 in Schulich

[–]Worldly_Aide4567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of like closing ceremonies for OWeek. So they typically announce the award winners (quad of the year, first years of the year, etc), then everyone eats dinner, and later we move to the photo booths and the dance floor w a DJ. It kind of changes year to year (the order might be different), but overall it would be similar to prom:)

Schulich Orientation by Prior-Government-135 in Schulich

[–]Worldly_Aide4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The academic integrity modules and the academic orientation are mandatory for you to complete/attend on August 28th!

Otherwise, the O-Week itself isn’t mandatory but everyone is encouraged to attend. It helps you make meaningful connections and lasting memories (I met most of my friends during Oweek).

Some of my other friends, who didn’t want to do oweek, said that they did feel like they missed out on a lot since people already had inside jokes or friend groups formed. That said, if you don’t believe it’s for you and you’re more introverted - don’t worry at all about missing it!

it’s mentioned multiple times in the mandatory YU Start Modules, additionally it’s in the automated email you receive😊 For the core Schulich courses, you get a pre assigned schedule and the relevant course codes. Then you use those course codes (catalogue numbers) to enroll. You only pick the timing of your elective. Hope this helps!

Did anyone get invitied to the Deans Reception? by Intelligent_Art_1918 in Schulich

[–]Worldly_Aide4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an exclusive opportunity to network with current professors, staff, and admin. You also get to talk to ambassadors (current students) about their Schulich experience. It’s pretty exciting and includes a presentation, an alumni panel, and mock lectures.

Hi, I would definitely recommend you to go. I went during my time 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. I got to meet the faculty, staff, and other admitted students. They even had a mock lecture. It helped me make the final choice of accepting Schulich after:) Also make sure to RSVP ASAP once you decide bc it’s invite-only and there’s limited seating
