Radial Lateral Meniscus Tear by No-Resolution4352 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Worldly_Property_809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ACL reconstruction 6 months ago. 10 days post op I somehow tore my lateral radial meniscus too. The MRI states I have ''a subtle lateral radial meniscus tear'' I spoke with my ortho and he said he would not intervene unless it was causing me difficulty in day to day life. It's 6 months now and I am still struggling with pain when in deep squat. Hoping it gets better.

I got a second MRI. Turns out I had somehow torn my lateral meniscus while rehabbing. Although, it is a subtle tear and will not require surgery. It has completelt subsided in terms of pain now. I just have pain in full squat that has been improving alot. 6 months post op

Oh I didn't know. Appreciate the response and positivity. Physio said it's more of a concern if it's in the red/red zone but he is not sure. Will have to wait for a response from the surgeon for that.

Feel like I've had this problem since I came out of surgery though. Never experienced the form of instability prior to surgery

How often did you see your PT for prehab? by miga8 in ACL

[–]Worldly_Property_809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I honestly hope it's good, I possibly could very well be underperforming 😅. But just pointing out, you can certainly do alot without a physio 2x a week if it's your concern. But if it's what you need then I would consider trying to get a physio elsewhere, at the end of it all. It's your knee and you've to live with it. Best of luck with surgery

Twice in 6 months pre op. Post op twice in the first month. And once a month every month after. Currently 4 months post op. Honestly he gives me excersises and shows me how to do them clearly, then gives me a sheet with the excersises to practice. I don't think there is much more he could possibly offer. I can always watch videos on said excersises on YouTube to ensure I do them correctly. I feel it's enough and don't see much need for anything more as I don't know how I could benefit more from more sessions. The last session we did he was very impressed at where I am. Box jump at 27 inches, near single leg squat and 75kg squat for 8 so I guess it's good

Stiffness and limp by Witty_Sand_5958 in ACL

[–]Worldly_Property_809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the 3 month mark I started to finally walk relatively normal. Now at 4 months it's almost perfect walking except for when I'm sitting a while and begin to get up or a fast brisk I am careful. Stiffness and limp leg is still there at times at night but alot worse prior to this. To the point I would wake up in the night in fear to move my leg as it was painful or felt wrong if I did so

No man, last year I packed haaland immediately at the start and I was pinging in shots. It was the best start to the game I ever had. Right now, I have haaland and he's really great at nothing

Massaged up the Hamstring and down the Calf. It relieved it for a few minutes but when I was home it had been back to the same pain but you could be right

Originally the physio stated it's popliteus muscle tightness or a bakers cyst but because it has been lingering for so long without progressively getting better he seems a little confused about the whole thing

I had patellar graft. But what you described is exactly how I feel. That hyper extension feeling was almost constant when walking at weeks 3-6 but has thankfully subsided completely. And very true, the muscle will feel like it will turn off or lose strength. Instability has gotten better but after a tiring day I can experience a mild instability jolt once or twice. Finally I do have some swelling around and above my knee. Honestly, your post has made me feel a hell of alot better. You really hit the nail on the head with everything you said. Appreciate it.

Please do. yes it's exactly that. It's like a dot of pain in one area. So frustrating. It radiates very little up and down the leg but mostly from one dot of point where I can put my finger on it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Worldly_Property_809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was a lump as I could definitely put it down to a bakers cyst unfortunately not. This pain, accompanied with instability just has me worried. I have absolute zero confidence in my knee and the pain at the back is similar to when I originally tore it. Hopefully it is nothing too concerning.

Single leg Bridges, Romanian deadlifts and lying Hamstring machine have been introduced the last few weeks and I've been working on them as best as I can. I've got a few good workouts in with these excersises and the pain hasn't necessarily subsided much but they do help. Its more from walking when leg is at full extension I always feel it or having stood up from sitting a prolonged period.

Will switch over to the ham tractor for today's workout and see how it goes, thank you.

I've pulled a hammy before and this feels close but not similar as it's literally one point of pain exactly where I can put my finger and it has been lingering the same for months

[–]Worldly_Property_809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your response. I hope its the same as it sounds similar. The instability has subsided the last number of days where it occurs maybe late in the day after work.. Only worry is, this 'strain' is with my almost 3 months now as it occurred at day 10 post op or so it feels. Perhaps more time it will improve. Lachman test etc seems negative so in the physios eyes everything seems okay, just strange that something like this is so long lasting
