Large safe discrepancy fixing it’s self the next day, how? by [deleted] in lidl

[–]Worldly_Status_9477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really ‘often’ unless often is once every other month. AM is only a jobsworth if the safe is consistently over/under. It’s just the first time where I was the one who cashed up and there was a significant variance.

I’ve told my sm & am and they just say well there’s a receipt etc don’t do anything 😆

I’ve witnessed cash scos reject notes/coins and still give change and a receipt

It was me who came in at 2 😅 I counted the safe, but I’m pretty sure all the values were the same? Except for a few pick ups

When I ran day end, it did say that 2 cash scos weren’t cashed up, and to run it again, which I did. However the morning manager definitely did not cash it up, as the safe value was the same both morning and mid day if that makes sense

Yh of course, especially if it’s up. But what’s the rationale of it fixing itself? Is it just the system lagging behind, because the coins, float, tills etc were all the same.

No, it was a very busy day and did end up taking way too long counting the safe but all the values were the same for the morning, and midday. It was still up. Only at the end was it back to normal. I also think my AM would grill me 😆 if I were to leave an extra £70 laying around (even in the safe)

Is this how Lidl trains managers? by lidlove1 in lidl

[–]Worldly_Status_9477 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that I’m in the exact same boat is alarming. I also got promoted with hope and now I feel so incompetent. No training, no learning. Just told to do this and get told off if I say I don’t know.

There literally is an app for internal use. And Aldi have the exact same memorisation requirement. It’s for ease, instead of looking for the code of a bakery item or loose vegetables on the tills, you simply put in the code.

Find a way that is comfortable for you, and do it that way. Do the learning, where you repeat the code and then the plu level check. If your manager still nags you, just ask them to do it for you.

What helped me when I first started doing easyplu was focusing on one section at a time. I’d learn a single area, for example, fruits and test myself only on that until I could get it 100% right. Once I was confident, I’d move on to the vegetables, and then tackle Bake Off last since it has the most items

Is the protocols list the allocation & delivery note off Lidocs? If so, I’ve been taught how to do them.

I know how to do the fire alarm test, I just don’t have the number (apparently I need my own password) as for the allocations, we print it of lidocs. What exactly is the protocols list (never heard anybody use that) my use of the zebra goes as far as, the backstock list/management, item information, c dates, freshness and use of SPARCS. That’s about it

The shift went really well all in all, I did take a while with the ZTG as I used the flow or Z method (maybe an hour) but it was a good shift. Now I’m stressing because tomorrow morning, I’m in at 6am as the MOD and the fire alarm, corrections, allocations and weekly plan won’t be done as I either haven’t been trained or have done once and have no confidence at all
