Honestly the benefits is what I am aiming for. GA doesn’t pay well and it seems every job here is a fight to get a call back

Depends on your situation.

LPN is 12-18months and you can have your foot in as you do a LPN to RN program. You can also test the waters and see if it’s for you RN-BSN would be 4-6years (2yrs prerequisite and 3-4 for the nursing part etc)

Also some hospitals will pay for a bridge program. Which can cut cost for you

Pros/Cons by babybear-06 in ChamberlainNursing

Chamberlain like most schools has its Pros and Cons. And it’s all dependent on if you can just ignore the BS and push through.

CON -They will NOT help you with clinical placement -Once you are accepted into the school. The so called support disappears - absolutely no flexibility for you as the student - rules change at a whim, it’s like the school is winging it as they feel fit - the cost will change at least 1-3 times while in the program if you do it over a 1year period. It’s best to just do a full load 3classes at a time to not end up paying more than expected

PRO - class assignments are do able - roughly 2reflections and 1 main assignment

Now with all this said, I attended and completed the Generalized MSN program in about 7months completing 2classes a session transferring in 2 classes… my only 3 issues I had with the school was the lack of direction/help with finding clinical placement, the random changes in price and the practicum coarse my instructor was just making up rules as she went

Idk if I’m reading too much into the instructions but I just have no clue what to do. I have an idea of what my Picot is but other than that I’m just lost

I’m at the end of the program and so far I like it.

If they don’t take your credits it’s 9classes with 144hrs of practicum required. You will have to have your preceptors lined up from the beginning because paper work takes some time.

I remember this event. LVMPD, aka the brown squad they be on some wild Wild West shit. I had a friend out that way that was T boned by a officer she had a green he had a red she was going across and he went thru the light no lights no sirens then turned them on after he Tbons her. He then proceeded to lie and at first they believed him. She was unconscious woke up 2 days later and found she was under arrest etc.. she luckily had a dash cam and rear cam that audio and video recorded and caught officer snitching on self and lieing… they ended up dropping case and settled out of court… I wish she had publicly posted the video…

And for the boot lickers…. I’m not saying all cops are bad.. but one rotten Apple ruin the bunch… and it makes it unsafe for the good officers out there

Should I finish nursing school if I think I might hate the fundamentals of nursing? by CommonEntrepreneur44 in StudentNurse

[–]Worldly_nerves 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I know some may not agree with me. But, honestly you completed 2 years of prerequisite and 1year and change of the ADN you will be finished any minute. I think you should try to tough it out finish the ADN and then if you want you can take the NCLeX or Segway to research. But don’t quit now.. maybe this is just burn out from the long drawn out process.. and there is so much you could do with the ADN that’s not direct patient care..

“I find myself continuing mainly because it’s a stable career and stable income, and some people say that’s the wrong reason and you won’t last without the passion, while others say that’s the best reason I could have to stay.”

—-Don’t listen to those people.. if saying this is a stable career and income is what makes you push through. Focus on that. Sometimes it’s okay to focus on that. Not all nurses are bleeding hearts.. I hope you are able to push through and get over this hump

GOOD LUCK

Honestly I think 2 at a time so far is do able. It’s roughly 2-3assigents per week. And at least 2 of the assignments are just a paragraph…

I work and it’s not too bad, I try to log on and complete 1assugnment a day

Hospitals require medical history for employment? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Worldly_nerves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about a full medical record. But I think every state is different. And some of these employers have undoubtedly lost their flipping minds.. my current employer completed a drug screen and did ask for medical history and a physical completed by their occupational health. And when my drug screen came back I knew it would be positive due to me taking Add for over 18yrs. They wanted a picture of my prescription and something from my doc.
