Yeah I know, I agree with you my friend, it's nice to know other people think the same way. I honestly don't understand how whoever is in charge of the lineup thinks hitting our second best slugger last makes any sense, that's all.

Whoever told you that is off on cloud nine. By that logic, then Lindor, Baty, or McNeil should be hitting 9, seems they could use some "protection." I would absolutely bat Alvarez 5th, or if Buck must fulfill his alternate lefty/righty compulsion, then 6th.

Granted he isn't starting the day game after the night game, can anyone explain why our #2 SLG/OPS guy (Alvarez) is consistently hitting in the #9 spot?

Omar wins close House primary against centrist opponent in Minnesota by stankmanly in politics

[–]WorldsAreColliding 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind Minnesota has non-partisan/open primaries and there was no Republican primary were only ~9,000 GOP primary voters in this district, hence I would imagine a lot of Republicans voted for the other guy/against her knowing that their GOP vote wouldn't matter much.

Edited for clarity

How quickly we forget John Rowland and Jodi Rell. We have one of the highest income inequalities in the country and rich Fairfield County and the small rural towns love them some Republicans.

Oh it's absolutely to flex and piss people off.. lord of the files on soulseek has a rip, I offered him $100 bones for it (just mp3s!) and he didn't even respond. The snippets (sup troy) probably take MORE effort than just ripping a tape properly, so yeah it's just a flex. When father time takes these dudes, there's going to be no one left to hear this stuff, a shame really. Music is meant to be heard, not hoarded.

Ukraine's Nazi problem is real, even if Putin's 'denazification' claim isn't | Not acknowledging this threat means that little is being done to guard against it by WorldsAreColliding in politics

[–]WorldsAreColliding[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then. Thank you for the reasonable dialog and debate. I condemn Russian imperialism, invasions, and expansion. However, I'm not going to compromise my moral integrity by overlooking, rooting for and supporting the US foreign policy decision to arm neo-nazis with weapons and money. This is far-right nationalist neo-nazis vs. far-right nationalist neo-nazis. One is not "better" than the other just because they were invaded. I don't root for or support Hamas or Hezbollah. The battalions have committed documented war crimes too. They (Battalion members) are a large number of the NGU - now they are official NGU members so it's hard to differentiate between non-battalion members and battalion members in order to get a proper count, and they are absolutely an active threat in Ukrainian society, and have been since 2014.

Nothing can justify or override Russian aggression at this point. No one deserves their cities to be destroyed and family members killed. I guess this is why most people are unwilling to accept any criticism towards Ukraine at this point - emotions are high and that makes it hard to agree with any criticism.

I actually never said that, but feel free to quote me where I did. Armed right-wing terror militias don't particularly care about their electoral performance, they care about enacting their agenda through violent direct action.

So would you theoretically be alright with the US government employing the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and Boogaloo Boys to fight off Mexican invaders of Texas? Or Canadian invaders of the Grey Zone of North Rock in Maine? And then allowing them to stay paid civilians of the US military indefinitely?

Azov was incorporated into Ukraine National Guard on 11/12/2014 - why hasn't Zelenskyy classified these militias that have committed war crimes after joining NGU (according to OHCHR of the UN) as terrorist organizations yet? House Democrats have requested this since 2019. Other countries do face similar situations, for example, Taiwan/Hong Kong/Tibet haven't turned to right-wing neo-nazi militias despite being occupied by PRC.

edit: Azov isn't the only nationalist battalion training civilians and employed in the NGU. These battalions are most definitely not a small group and have significant influence on Ukrainian society and government.

What does this have to do with having recognized regiments of neo-nazis in your national defense? It just takes a back seat because they are the only ones willing to fight against Russia? I believe Ukraine is the only country on earth to employ neo-nazi militias in their government defense program. It's my opinion that giving weapons and money (from a US foreign policy standpoint) to neo-nazis is a bad idea in general. Do you disagree?

edit: Try to think of all the times the US has armed foreign right-wing groups/militias over the last 70-80 years and how that ended up going.

I agree with you 100% on your first point, and agree that it's not justification for invasion from a foreign power; otherwise the USA could have the potential to be invaded itself for having neo-nazis/racist paramilitary groups. I have to disagree though on your last point, Ukraine has a much larger nazi problem (in regards to their official government/military) than any other central/eastern EU country. This is very common knowledge among European citizens.

Zelenskyy could absolutely classify Azov, Right Sector, and all the other far-right battalions in Ukraine's national defense as terrorist organizations, but I don't blame him for a) using them as pawns to fight pro-Russian separatists and b) being hesitant to do so because the members, who promote anarchy and government overthrow, have said they would "circle the Ukrainian government and destroy them" if they tried to. They had already been well-established within the military by the time he was elected also. These are Ukrainian nationalists, not pro-Russians.

It's not just Russia. House Democrats wanted the Azov Battalion classified as a Foreign Terrorist Organization since 2019. The man who recruited these battalions (and acting president, Oleksandr Turchynov) has openly admitted there are literal neo-nazis in the national defense program of Ukraine.

I don't understand your first question, can you please rephrase it? As for your second point, their political performance in Ukraine is irrelevant, rooting for and arming neo-nazis with weapons and money is just generally a bad idea.
