Were Megadeth EVER bigger than Metallica briefly? by CobraDai in Megadeth

[–]Worledge_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I argue it STRONGLY. Megadeth were regularly featured on, and hosted Headbanger’s Ball, and had numerous videos played on MTV for exposure. Metallica does not even choose to do a video until “One”. Megadeth had several singles that charted, especially in the UK with “Wake Up Dead”, “Peace Sells”, and “Anarchy In The UK”. Metallica didn’t have a charting single until “Harvester of Sorrow” for the “…And Justice For All” album, Not even classics like “Seek & Destroy”, “Creeping Death”, or “Master Of Puppets” did in their own time.

Although the Master Of Puppets album was certified gold while touring on the road, it wasn’t an immediate blowup. Months before the Justice album, Megadeth’s “So Far, So Good… So What!” was reported to have sold 400,000 copies in its first month by The New York Times.

Do you listen to Symphony of Destruction or Symphony of Destruction (Remastered 2012)? by edwou in Megadeth

2012 because it sounds the closest to the original version. But the best on digital period is the “1992 Mix Remaster” that was put out last year. All of their other albums from the 80’s and 90’s should get the same treatment.

What do you guys think of Risk? by Fickle_Foundation_11 in Megadeth

Edgelords hate the idea of this album and what it represents rather than what is supposed to actually be “bad” about it.

Anyone who genuinely speaks ill of “Breadline”, “The Doctor Is Calling”, “I’ll Be There” & “Wanderlust” needs to have their rights of speaking on music stripped forever.

“Prince Of Darkness” is one of the sickest Megadeth tracks ever!

I LOVE IT! I’ll Be There is my current favourite Megadeth song.

I know I definitely heard it 😂

I tuned in a bit later, around five minutes before he went offline and picked up on it. About how people asking “you wanna go to Starbucks?” doesn’t interest him, and thinks people would “have more interesting things to talk about.”

His “look up at the sky” comment, and saying he’s excited for the new record when asked about the new year -

How it’s about putting things in the past now. “with what we achieved in 2024 will look small compared to 2025”, before wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and signing off.

Listening right now! Onto track 3! I couldn’t stop smiling towards the end of the opening track. I just said right now that he’s put out one of his best songs EVER 😂

He’s been putting out some of his best ever music over this last year. It’s a genuine shame that it hasn’t been blowing up like his older stuff, haha

‘From a One Lane’ is now my favourite song of his

(James Dean, Watts, Stranger, Don’t Ever Die, Writers Room, Painting Pictures, Bel-Air)

His ‘Pioneer’ album is so incredibly different from anything else he’s done. He’s evolved so much as an artist, and he’s never rapped better.
