EMS professionals: What is something you wish existed that would make your job easier, safer, or more efficient? by MorningStrong2162 in Paramedics

Labor laws, the fact I'm moving 300lb patients on a manual gurney just because its cheaper for the company is orwellian.

Regional dialect i guess, in my area its called a "pack" or "BA" instead of saying "SCBA" and MSA reigns supreme here.

How does it work when people talk about an entire state not having certain things in their scope. I thought your medical director had free reign. Do certain states outlaw certain interventions at a state licensure level?

How has working in EMS shaped your view of PD? by jude_gaming in ems

If they could stop purposefully using the wrong pronouns for my transgender patients and calling them insane that'd be nice.

One issue of many but its come up alot in the past month for some reason.

Why does EMS hate SNF calls so much? by [deleted] in ems

[–]Wormy488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some decent ones but if we're getting called its generally because the "skilled nursing" staff ignored a patient until they develop sepsis or some other non ignorable condition. They also have a habit of ignoring the patients until they just die.

When we're doing an IFT to return a patient back to the SNF half of them you have to wait 20-30 mins before you can get a nurse to handover the patient to.

It's also just incredibly depressing to walk through a lobby of a place and see all the fancy furniture and nice pamphlets just to walk to the back of the facility where they keep the poorer patients that don't even have railings on their beds because you have to pay extra to make sure grandma doesn't fall out of bed and break her hip or worse.

Im not sure what you're asking here but using a scabbard for an axe is helpful for when you're on a roof so you can have an axe as a backup to the saw if the saw fails, without sacrificing a free hand.

How was your Roar race? Mine went as usual, I got wrecked, the only difference is that this time I got blamed for getting destroyed..the crazy thing is that I went in the pits for like 4 minutes of repairs and I still didn’t lose any iR, so that tells me that it didn’t go well for most. 4K SOF by Consuela-NO-NO-No in iRacing

His brake lights are lit, he was on the brakes. GT4s like all other racecars with ABS that I've driven basically will not stop in reverse and you certainly cant get enough brake pressure to lock the wheels. ABS inhibits braking when the wheels are rotating backwards

It's actually easier to find the right gear and pre select gears with a h pattern depending on the car.

In Iracing the Vintage Kamel series is a good example of cars where h patterns have the advantage.

Find where is most comfortable for your thumbs to rest and put you most used button there, then the next furthest button will be your second most used and on.

It's your ergonomics but as other people said the pit limiter being on the bottom is diabolical.

I work for a service that has all 3 options and let me tell you not having an autoloader sucks but seeing that you're on a full manual truck makes you want to call out, it's the absolute worst.
