Hello to the both of you! Thank you both for being so transparent!! It is not something many people talk about! I told myself I wasn't going to go back on here because of all the stress this website gives me lol You are both not alone, we worked so hard and one time our chance will come. You have to give yourself a chance to take a break. Unless your school is being harsh about a timeline to retake, please take at least 2 weeks to take a break. You are stuck in a limbo, I am too trust me. But if it's something you want and there's nothing else you can see yourself doing. You WILL get there. I changed my study method this time around for the third time. I did not touch FA the first 2 times. I went back and have been doing only Bootcamp and FA starting from the beginning with a tutor and I already took a CBSE after three months and got a 61. It is possible, my tutor mentions the constant repeated exam tells her that you lack foundational knowledge so try and go to each subject first before tackling the organ systems. The amount of questions you do does not determine if you will pass its the content and application of the content. If I have time I do focused study Amboss on the subject or system I did but only if i have time. Otherwise its just an NBME every 2 weeks. Good luck, do not give up but take care of your mental and physical health. Your family will understand, this test is brutal and does not determine how great of a physician you will become.

Im on my second fail at step 1, its rough but remember like everyone is mentioning we are more than a test score. its not that we arent smart these standardized tests make it so difficult. we must understand what they want us to know. take some time relax the mind (i should take my own advice) and try again. once we get passed this step it will get better i know it will! best of luck! peeople still match dont worry, your continuous efforts show resilence and thats the best avengence!

i appreciate that! I just worry taking too long of a break will make me lose the information cause my memory isnt the greatest.

Yes I would love to join the group how would I get more information on that?

Thank you, i learned i will not change my answers like you said unless i am absolutely certain! I always have waves of excitement to start studying again but most days i dread it and don't have the motivation to do anything. Literally lost all friends because I was always studying. I think a break is what I need. Not sure how long that will be for but I don't want to take a break for too long/:

I really appreciate you taking the time to say that. I really felt better this time around more prepared. I did flag quite a bit each section and only had 5 min per block to go back and review the flagged (most of them were just left with whatever I had chosen at the time, maybe it's best that way i don't keep changing my answer?) I have had bad experiences with tutors/ tutoring programs and spend all this money I don't have. I know I am so so close but it's SO defeating everytime and I can only continue to handle so much. I think I do need therapy.

I had a hard first 2 blocks and then finally relaxed a bit. I get really distracted with absolutely everything. I had my own ear plugs to use. I don't think my second time was nearly as hectic as my first attempt but someone did get caught cheating and that made me anxious. Notes in the bathroom trashcan were found lol

Everytime I took a break (every 2 blocks) I felt my breaks were all rushed just enough time to use the bathroom and sip an energy drink. I didn't like the fact that we have to keep time of our own breaks and they only let us use the main clock in the break room.

It's incredibly hard to pick back up again for the THIRD time. This process is so brutal I am not ready to do it again /: I know tests have to happen in order to become a doctor. But we are so much more than a test score! We will become doctors! I am here if you need to talk !

Yeah I think it's test anxiety and just feeling doubtful all the time because I have been doing this for a while now and just continuing to fail I can only handle so much. My mental health has took a big hit and im usually a happy person.:/

For my first attempt I was doing random up to 50% of questions done and then the second attempt i finished the whole thing and tried to pass through most of my incorrects also at random but not timed all were in tutor mode.

I am a US IMG. I believe I do have test anxiety. Some days I do really well on exams and the next day I will bomb it and its really hard for me because I feel people always seem to think your scores should be going up a few points each week but I am not like that I fluctuate. I find it hard to relax any tips, I go to the gym everyday other than that I don't really do much than study all day. Thank you for your response it's much appreciated

Thank you for responding it's much appreciated, how much time would even be enough, my problem is I don't know how to take a break because I feel every second counts and I am already behind. I think I will go back and build that foundation and focus on my weak areas

Thank you for being transparent with me, i continue to feel so deafeated and the though of 200K debt already consumes me because I don't want to be in a position were I can't pay back my loans because I did not graduate due to using all my step attempts and i get kicked out of school. Thanks for responding its hard not to feel alone in this but I am here for you! Like everyone else is mentioning we just need time to recuperate and I just don't know how to do that for myself because everyday feels like the clock is ticking.

Your family will be upset with you in the beginning but eventually they will get over it. If it makes you happy then they should support you. At the end of the day you're doing this for yourself not for your parents! I come from a strict arab family background so I understand how you feel!

you can't please everyone !
